The university readiness-based model towards students’ entrepreneurship education
Published 2014“…This study used perceived desirability and feasibility to measure students’ perception towards the readiness of the University in providing entrepreneurship education.This is a survey method of study.The sample of the study was undergraduate students in Universiti Utara Malaysia.The total 400 questionnaires were distributed, out of which 375 questionnaires were returned with response rate of 94%.This study reveals that students perceived that the administrators give fully support to the entrepreneurship program and activities in the University; families and communities influence their career choice; entrepreneurship lecturers have sufficient entrepreneurship’ skill and knowledge; the students satisfy with the entrepreneurship course content, the teaching methods stimulates students’ interest; the University provide sufficient facilities and infrastructure; and the time organization is adequate and satisfactory.This study confirmed that the desirability and feasibility factors were able to explain students’ perception on the University’s readiness in providing entrepreneurship education.This study also found that desirability factors drive entrepreneurial intentions among students.It is confirmed that families and communities, attitudinal and behavioral factors are able to explain the entrepreneurial intentions.…”
