METAPHORIZATION OF ALLUSIVE PROPER NAMES: SECONDARY NOMINATIONS
Published 2017-06-01“…To these principles we include: 1) the principle of categorical transposition (characterized by the transition from one conceptual category to another) and the principle of seme redistribution (involves archiseme change, positional transformation of denotative semes (core-periphery / periphery-core) and augment of connotative seme’s-indicators (actual semes (often supplemented by associative elements)), as a result, we have a secondary nomination of a proper name. So, we can come to the conclusion, that the metaphorical nature of allusive proper name is determined by the following processes: 1) the metaphorical models are one of the means of material construction of allusive units; 2) a high degree of metaphor’s associativity and metaphorical meanings of elements reflect the conceptual sphere of allusive names.…”
