The Influenza M2 Ectodomain Regulates the Conformational Equilibria of the Transmembrane Proton Channel: Insights from Solid-State Nuclear Magnetic Resonance by Kwon, Byungsu, Hong, Mei

    Published 2018
“…We incorporated ¹³C- and ¹⁵N-labeled residues into both domains and measured their chemical shifts and line widths using solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance. The data indicate that the entire ectodomain is unstructured and dynamic, but the motion is slower for residues closer to the TM domain. ¹³C line shapes indicate that this ecto-TM construct undergoes fast uniaxial rotational diffusion, like the isolated TM peptide, but drug binding increases the motional rates of the TM helix while slowing the local motion of the ectodomain residues that are close to the TM domain. …”

A deuterium and phosphorus-31 nuclear magnetic resonance study of the interaction of melittin with dimyristoylphosphatidylcholine bilayers and the effects of contaminating phospholipase A2. by Dempsey, C, Watts, A

    Published 1987
“…The interaction of bee venom melittin with dimyristolphosphatidylcholine (DMPC) selectively deuteriated in the choline head group has been studied by deuterium and phosphorus-31 nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. The action of residual phospholipase A2 in melittin samples resulted in mixtures of DMPC and its hydrolytic products that underwent reversible transitions at temperatures between 30 and 35 degrees C from extended bilayers to micellar particles which gave narrow single-line deuterium and phosphorus-31 NMR spectra. …”

A study of intracellular orthophosphate concentration in human muscle and erythrocytes by 31P nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and selective chemical assay. by Bevington, A, Mundy, K, Yates, A, Kanis, J, Russell, R, Taylor, D, Rajagopalan, B, Radda, G

    Published 1986
“…In order to study the relationship between extracellular and intracellular concentrations of orthophosphate (Pi), phosphorus nuclear magnetic resonance spectra were recorded, at rest, from the flexor digitorum superficialis muscle of hypophosphataemic patients with vitamin D-resistant rickets, and patients with Paget's disease of bone before and after they had been made hyperphosphataemic by treatment with the drug ethylidene-1-hydroxy-1,1-bisphosphonate. …”
