Based on the analysis of these texts and the frequency of appearance of the themes and motifs, four distinct discourses can be identified: 1. the Balkans as an area of wars and conflicts, 2. the Balkans as an area of joy, passion and fatalism, 3. the primitive and aggressive “male” Balkans vs. the beautiful, proud and resistant “female” Balkans, and 4. the Balkans as Europe’s “Other”. …”

    “…We shall therefore try and define video game narrativity as a thecombination of a "set-up" or "programmed" plot and the concrete experience ofthat plot by the player, that is, an experience which is both playful and narrative.On the basis of this preliminary work, we shall establish the existence of videogame prototypes which might allow the researcher to describe various degrees ofnarrativity according to the function and the episode of the games.The distinction between narrative prototypes will enable us to question andnuance the relations between the player and the play from the vantage point ofnarrativity but also to suggest a typology where the links betweenendo-narrativity and narrativity will take pride of place.
