Determination of Fe(Ⅱ) and Total Iron in Red Sandstone by o-phenanthroline Spectrophotometry
Published 2020-03-01“…BACKGROUND Red bed sandstone is a set of continental or shallow lake clastic rocks in the Danxia landform. Accurate determination of Fe(Ⅱ) and Fe(Ⅲ) in red bed sandstone that indicates the redox relationship during weathering can serve as the dividing basis of weathering degree and depth of the block. …”

Petrology of the Skaergaard Layered Series
Published 2023-12-01“…Estimates predict that a substantial amount of the granophyric melt penetrated as sills into the downward crystallising, upper part of the body as well as into the host rocks. The redistribution of granophyric melts within the solidifying crystal mush complicates predictions of trapped-melt content and mass-balance calculations but helps to explain apparent decoupling of included and excluded trace elements, especially towards the end stages of evolution. …”

Distinguishing the hauterivian-barremian sediments in the Karkinitsko-North-Crimean though (Zakhidno-Оktyabrska area) by microfosills
Published 2022-12-01“…Based on the peculiarities of the lithological composition of the rocks and the palynological characteristics of the deposits of the Kalininska suite of the Lower Cretaceous deposits of the Crimean Plain, we suggest that the Mesozoic Commission of the NSC of Ukraine consider the issue of distinguishing within its scope two subsoils: the lower one, represented by gray, red-brown, fine-grained, clayey sandstones, sometimes with gravel, and the characterized the Hauterivian spore-pollen complex, and the upper one, represented by dark gray siltstones with layers of sandy or organogenic-detrital limestones, is characterized by the Barremian spore-pollen complex and dinocyst complex of the Odontochitina operculata zone, dated to the Barremian. …”

Geochronological and geochemical effects of zircon chemical abrasion: insights from single-crystal stepwise dissolution experiments
Published 2024-01-01“…We find that stepwise dissolution at 210 <span class="inline-formula">∘</span>C is more effective at eliminating material affected by open-system behavior and enriched in U, common Pb (Pb<span class="inline-formula">c</span>), and light rare earth elements (LREEs); reduces the presence of leaching-induced artifacts that manifest as reverse discordance; and produces more consistent and concordant results in zircon from the three rocks studied. We estimate that stepwise dissolution in three 4 h steps is roughly equivalent to a single <span class="inline-formula">∼</span> 8 h leaching step due to the insulating properties of the PTFE sleeve in the Parr pressure dissolution vessel, whereas traditionally labs utilize a single 12 h leaching step. …”
