Recent changes in terrestrial water storage in the Upper Nile Basin: an evaluation of commonly used gridded GRACE products by M. Shamsudduha, M. Shamsudduha, R. G. Taylor, D. Jones, L. Longuevergne, M. Owor, C. Tindimugaya

    Published 2017-09-01
“…Resolution of changes in groundwater storage (ΔGWS) from GRACE ΔTWS is greatly constrained by both uncertainty in changes in soil-moisture storage (ΔSMS) modelled by GLDAS LSMs (CLM, NOAH, VIC) and the low annual amplitudes in ΔGWS (e.g. 1.8–4.9 cm) observed in deeply weathered crystalline rocks underlying the Upper Nile Basin. Our study highlights the substantial uncertainty in the amplitude of ΔTWS that can result from different data-processing strategies in commonly used, gridded GRACE products; this uncertainty is disregarded in analyses of ΔTWS and individual stores applying a single GRACE product.…”

Zircon U–Pb–Hf isotopic and geochemical characteristics of the Xierzi biotite monzogranite pluton, Linxi, Inner Mongolia and its tectonic implications by Qing-Bin Guan, Zheng-Hong Liu, Xing-An Wang, Bin Wang, Shi-Jie Wang, Yu-Song Chen, Zhi-Qiang Feng

    Published 2018-03-01
“…Zircon εHf(t) values and two-stage modal ages of the zircons within the pluton range from +4.80 to +13.65 and from 983 to 418 Ma, respectively, indicating that the primary magma was generated through partial melting of felsic rocks from juvenile crust. Consequently, these results demonstrate that the Xierzi pluton formed under the post-orogenic extensional setting after arc–continent collision in the middle Permian.…”

Age and metal source of orogenic gold deposits in Southeast Guizhou Province, China: Constraints from Re–Os and He–Ar isotopic evidence by Jiasheng Wang, Hanjie Wen, Chao Li, Jinrang Zhang, Wei Ding

    Published 2019-03-01
“…Both initial 187Os ratios suggest that the Os was derived from crustal rocks. Combined with previous rare earth element (REE), trace elements, Nd–Sr–S–Pb isotope studies on scheelite, inclusion fluids with other residues of gangue quartz, and sulfides from other gold deposits in the region, it is suggested that the ore metals from Pingqiu and Jinjing were sourced from the Xiajiang Group. …”

Voxel Based Morphometry Alterations in Mal de Debarquement Syndrome. by Yoon-Hee Cha, Shruthi Chakrapani

    Published 2015-01-01
“…Mal de debarquement syndrome (MdDS) is a disorder of chronic self-motion perception that occurs though entrainment to rhythmic background motion, such as from sea voyage, and involves the perception of low-frequency rocking that can last for months or years. The neural basis of this persistent sensory perception abnormality is not well understood. We investigated grey matter volume differences underlying persistent MdDS by performing voxel-based morphometry on whole brain and pre-specified ROIs in 28 individuals with MdDS and comparing them to 18 age, sex, and handedness matched controls.MdDS participants exhibited greater grey matter volume in the left inferior parietal lobule, right inferior occipital gyrus (area V3v), right temporal pole, bilateral cerebellar hemispheric lobules VIII/IX and left lobule VIIa/VIIb. …”
