Commissioning the Linac Coherent Light Source injector by R. Akre, D. Dowell, P. Emma, J. Frisch, S. Gilevich, G. Hays, Ph. Hering, R. Iverson, C. Limborg-Deprey, H. Loos, A. Miahnahri, J. Schmerge, J. Turner, J. Welch, W. White, J. Wu

    Published 2008-03-01
“…The Linac Coherent Light Source is a SASE x-ray free-electron laser (FEL) project presently under construction at SLAC [J. Arthur et al., SLAC-R-593, 2002.]. The injector section, from drive laser and rf photocathode gun through first bunch compressor chicane, was installed in the fall of 2006. …”

Virtual Diagnostic Suite for Electron Beam Prediction and Control at FACET-II by Claudio Emma, Auralee Edelen, Adi Hanuka, Brendan O’Shea, Alexander Scheinker

    Published 2021-01-01
“…We discuss the implementation of a suite of virtual diagnostics at the FACET-II facility currently under commissioning at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. The diagnostics will be used for the prediction of the longitudinal phase space along the linac, spectral reconstruction of the bunch profile, and non-destructive inference of transverse beam quality (emittance) while using edge radiation at the injector dogleg and bunch compressor locations. …”

Measurement of the branching ratios of the Z0 into heavy quarks by Abe, K, Abe, K, Abe, T, Adam, I, Akimoto, H, Aston, D, Baird, K, Baltay, C, Band, H, Barklow, T, Bauer, J, Bellodi, G, Berger, R, Blaylock, G, Bogart, JR, Bower, G, Brau, J, Breidenbach, M, Bugg, WM, Burke, D, Burnett, T, Burrows, P, Calcaterra, A, Cassell, R, Chou, A

    Published 2005
“…The measurement was performed using about 400000 hadronic Z0 events recorded in the SLC Large Detector experiment at SLAC between 1996 and 1998. The small and stable SLAC Linear Collider beam spot and the CCD-based vertex detector were used to reconstruct bottom and charm hadron decay vertices with high efficiency and purity, which enables us to measure most efficiencies from data. …”
