Block-sparsity-aware LMS algorithm for network echo cancellation
Published 2018“…Network echo path impulse response is single-block-sparse in nature. In order to obtain a single-block-sparse estimate of the unknown echo path, a new least mean squares (LMS) algorithm is proposed by introducing the penalty of single block sparsity, which is the difference between the mixed l 2,1 norm and l 2 norm of the uniformly partitioned filter tap-weight vector, into the original mean-square-error cost function. …”

Les anonymes de la conservation: Nature, contradiction et injustice dans l’Éthiopie contemporaine (Simien, 1963-2019)
Published 2019-01-01“…This article is rooted in the African environmental history which analyses the institutional, ideal and scientific mechanisms of such an invention of a “pristine” nature. In order to contribute to further strengthening this sub-field of environmental history, special attention will be devoted to raise one question: why global conservation politics today seem doomed to produce social injustice, that is to make peoples that live within nature enduring political discrimination (being deprived of rights still available to Others) and moral domination (being deprived of these rights in the name of an ethic defined by Others)? …”

A New Reassigned Spectrogram Method in Interference Detection for GNSS Receivers
Published 2015-09-01“…Current work on interference detection in GNSS receivers has mainly focused on time-frequency (TF) analysis techniques, such as spectrogram and Wigner–Ville distribution (WVD), where the spectrogram approach presents the TF resolution trade-off problem, since the analysis window is used, and the WVD method suffers from the very serious cross-term problem, due to its quadratic TF distribution nature. In order to solve the cross-term problem and to preserve good TF resolution in the TF plane at the same time, in this paper, a new TF distribution by using a reassigned spectrogram has been proposed in interference detection for GNSS receivers. …”

Biophilia in interior design and its impact on achieving sustainability
Published 2022-09-01“…Abstract: Nature was and still is the first human teacher that influences and drives an interior designer's imagination to use nature's models and systems in the interior design process.Recently, the interior designer turned to design that is compatible with nature in order to enhance the positive relationship with the environment in the interior spaces, and new trends have appeared in the field of design, such as nature-loving design (Biophilia), which promotes positive communication between humans and the environment in the internal spaces ,The technological and industrial advances that have occurred in our society and culture have led to the isolation of man from nature and as a result some designers in the field of interior design are trying to create a safe interior space to be more integrated with the environment and compatible with human nature ,The research problem talk about the loss of the link between man and nature in the internal spaces, despite the possibility of integration and a return to nature through the philosophy of Biophilia as a direction of sustainability in interior design.Key words: Biophilia - interior design - sustainabilityThe research problem:The loss of the link between man and nature in the internal spaces, despite the possibility of integration and a return to nature through the philosophy of Biophilia as a direction of sustainability in interior design.Research aims:- Analyzing trends to strength the relationship between man and nature, through Biophilia, to create an interior space for the human that enhances his health and achieves his well-being.- The participation of nature in the design process for the benefit of nature and peopleResearch importance:- Increase the connection between humans and the environment inside buildings by integrating the interior space with nature.- Simulating the relationship between man and nature, and the psychological connection with it, to positively communicate with nature in the interior spaces.Research methodology:The research is based on several research methods, including:The Descriptive and Explanatory method:- Analyzing the trends of sustainability and its rise towards new human values that are called biophilia.- The study of the interaction between the characteristics of nature, humans and interior space through Biophilia and its effect on his health and well-being.Analytical method: - It consists in testing the study hypotheses, with the aim of achieving the research objectives, and leaving the theoretical framework to the applied framework…”
