Src family kinase expression and subcellular localization in macrophages: implications for their role in CSF‐1‐induced macrophage migration
Published 2016“…A major role of colony‐stimulating factor‐1 is to stimulate the differentiation of mononuclear phagocytic lineage cells into adherent, motile, mature macrophages. The colony‐stimulating factor‐1 receptor transduces colony‐stimulating factor‐1 signaling, and we have shown previously that phosphatidylinositol 3‐kinase p110δ is a critical mediator of colony‐stimulating factor‐1–stimulated motility through the colony‐stimulating factor‐1 receptor pY721 motif. …”

Novel β-TCP/PVA bilayered hydrogels with considerable physical and bio-functional properties for osteochondral repair
Published 2020“…The two layers of the novel integrated graft provided a considerable bio-function by co-culturing with chondrocytes and synovium mesenchymal stem cells: chondrocytes promoted adherence achieved by the upper density layer and better osteogenesis performance of the porous lower layer. …”

A novel method for segmenting growth of cells in sheared endothelial culture reveals the secretion of an anti-inflammatory mediator
Published 2018“…Results: Segmenting the growth of cells had no effect on cell shape, alignment and number per unit area compared to culturing cells in the whole well, but there were differences in tumour-necrosis-factor-α (TNF-α)-induced expression of vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM-1) and intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1), and monocyte adherence to the monolayer. Conclusions: The results are consistent with the release of a mediator from cells exposed to high-magnitude uniaxial shear stress that has anti-inflammatory effects on activated endothelium; the mediator may be of importance in atherogenesis. …”

Edge/cloud resource management for time-sensitive applications
Published 2024“…With this gradual introduction of time-critical systems into cloud and edge computing supported by 5G wireless technology, it is crucial to ensure the adherence of strict deadlines for such systems. This project aims to develop an understanding for the network latencies experienced by a serverless application communicating via a 5G network, including latency due to network congestion and delay experienced by or priority of a packet due to the scheduling policy used. …”
