Exogenous Arachidonic Acid Affects Fucoxanthin Biosynthesis and Photoprotection in Phaeodactylum tricornutum by Shuaiqi Zhu, Song Bin, Wenda Wang, Shan Lu, Wenqiang Yang

Published 2022-10-01
“…In order to better understand the change of fucoxanthin content and its role in photoprotection, the growth, fucoxanthin biosynthesis and photosynthetic phenotypes were studied in the diatom Phaeodactylum tricornutum under the treatment of exogenous arachidonic acid (AA). Our results demonstrated that even low concentration of AA at 0.1 mg/L strongly induced fucoxanthin accumulation in algal cells to a maximum of 1.1 mg/g dry weight (DW), which was 36.6% higher than that in the untreated ones. …”

Angiotensin II stimulates arachidonic acid release from bone marrow stromal cells by Renee S Richmond, E Ann Tallant, Patricia E Gallagher, Carlos M Ferrario, William B Strawn

Published 2004-12-01
“…To further elucidate the mechanisms of Ang II-regulated haematopoiesis, we determined whether Ang II-stimulation alters arachidonic acid release and MCSF secretion from MSC. Methods Cynomolgus monkey MSC isolated from bone marrow aspirates and the human HS-5 stromal cell line were studied for Ang II-mediated arachidonic acid (AA) release, while secretion of MCSF in response to Ang II was studied in HS-5 cells. …”
