Integrated coagulation-trickling filter–ultrafiltration processes for domestic wastewater treatment and reclamation by Zhao, Qing-Liang., Zhong, Hui-Yuan., Liu, Jin-Li., Liu, Yu.

    Published 2013
“…In this study, an integrated chemically enhanced primary treatment (CEPT), trickling filter (TF) and ultrafiltration (UF) process was developed with success. Coagulant produced from fly ash was used to enhance primary treatment, while trickling filter packed with coal cinder through four-layer structure without aeration was employed for further removal of COD and ammonium-nitrogen from the CEPT effluent. 95 and 88% removal of COD and ammonium were achieved, while total phosphorus (TP) and suspended solid (SS) were found to be removed completely at a coagulant dosage of 2.5 mL/L in the CEPT–TF–UF system. …”

Insight into Fe(II)/UV/chlorine pretreatment for reducing ultrafiltration (UF) membrane fouling : effects of different natural organic fractions and comparison with coagulation by Xing, Jiajian, Liang, Heng, Chuah, Chong Joon, Bao, Yueping, Luo, Xinsheng, Wang, Tianyu, Wang, Jinlong, Li, Guibai, Snyder, Shane Allen

    Published 2021
“…This treatment could be an emerging alternative prior to UF process attributed to the coupled role of oxidation and coagulation. To obtain a comprehensive understanding of fouling reduction, the influence of Fe(II)/UV/chlorine process on the characteristics of various feed solutions was inspected, including humic acid (HA), bovine serum albumin (BSA), sodium alginate (SA) and their mixture (HSB). …”

Physical properties and in vitro transfection efficiency of gene delivery vectors based on complexes of DNA with synthetic polycations by Reschel, T, Koňák, Č, Oupický, D, Seymour, L, Ulbrich, K

    Published 2002
“…By decreasing the molecular weight of polycations used for PEC formation, the complexes become unstable towards coagulation in aqueous solution at lower pH. The self-assembly of DNA with low-molecular-weight polycations in water provides PECs with the lowest molecular weight, smallest size and the lowest density but their stability in NaCl solutions is very poor. …”
