“…<p>During the 2019 Fire Influence on Regional to Global Environments and Air Quality (FIREX-AQ) study, the NASA DC-8 carried out in situ chemical measurements in smoke plumes emitted from wildfires and agricultural fires in the contiguous United States. The DC-8 payload included a modified proton-transfer-reaction time-of-flight mass spectrometer (PTR-ToF-MS) for the fast measurement of gaseous ammonia (<span class="inline-formula">NH3</span>) and a high-resolution time-of-flight aerosol mass spectrometer (AMS) for the fast measurement of submicron particulate ammonium (<span class="inline-formula"><math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" id="M6" display="inline" overflow="scroll" dspmath="mathml"><mrow class="chem"><msubsup><mi mathvariant="normal">NH</mi><mn mathvariant="normal">4</mn><mo>+</mo></msubsup></mrow></math><span><svg:svg xmlns:svg="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" width="24pt" height="15pt" class="svg-formula" dspmath="mathimg" md5hash="6ca56caa63735c5009fe6b299c1a126b"><svg:image xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" xlink:href="acp-23-2331-2023-ie00001.svg" width="24pt" height="15pt" src="acp-23-2331-2023-ie00001.png"/></svg:svg></span></span>). …”

US National Maps Attributing Forest Change: 1986–2010 by Karen G. Schleeweis, Gretchen G. Moisen, Todd A. Schroeder, Chris Toney, Elizabeth A. Freeman, Samuel N. Goward, Chengquan Huang, Jennifer L. Dungan

    Published 2020-06-01
“…This study utilizes the Landsat archive and an ensemble of disturbance algorithms to produce maps attributing event type and timing to >258 million ha of contiguous Unites States forested ecosystems (1986–2010). Nationally, 75.95 million forest ha (759,531 km2) experienced change, with 80.6% attributed to removals, 12.4% to wildfire, 4.7% to stress and 2.2% to conversion. …”

Expanding the coverage and accuracy of parcel-level land value estimates. by Miriam Gold, Seth Binder, Christoph Nolte

    Published 2023-01-01
“…Nolte (2020) provides a county-by-county, parcel-level estimation approach that dramatically improves estimates of fair market value for undeveloped land across the contiguous Unites States. Much undeveloped land of conservation interest is under threat of conversion to agricultural use or is already agricultural. …”
