Usability study on Mobile Web Pre-Fetching by Sulaiman, S., Lokman, N., Hussien, N. S.

    Published 2017
“…Advanced Keystroke Level Model (KLM) technique was used where it predicted the interaction time of user with Mobile Web Pre-Fetching (MWeP) prototype and it is validated through the statistical method of single factor controlled experiments where user testing was done. Facebook was chosen as the case study where the usability evaluation based on advanced KLM technique supported that user access time with MWeP prototype decreased considerably while the usability evaluation through user testing implied that the mobile web pre-fetching prototype was satisfactory to user in terms of learnability, efficiency of use, memorability, error frequency and satisfaction. …”

Ecological interactions affect the bioactivity of medicinal plants by Julia L. Camina, Virginia Usseglio, Victoria Marquez, Carolina Merlo, José S. Dambolena, Julio A. Zygadlo, Lorena Ashworth

    Published 2023-07-01
“…We tested the hypothesis that cross-pollination and simulated herbivory modify the chemical composition of essential oils, improving the bioactive properties of the medicinal plant Lepechinia floribunda (Lamiaceae). Through controlled experiments, we showed that essential oils from the outcrossed plant progeny had a higher relative abundance of oxygenated terpenes and it almost doubled the bacteriostatic effect on Staphylococcus aureus, compared to inbred progeny (i.e., progeny produced in absence of pollinators). …”

The Effect of Principal Component Analysis Parameters on Solar-Induced Chlorophyll Fluorescence Signal Extraction by Zhongqiu Sun, Songxi Yang, Shuo Shi, Jian Yang

    Published 2021-05-01
“…In this study, we examined if principal component numbers and retrieval band regions could have effects on the accuracy of SIF inversion under two controlled experiments. The results revealed that the near-infrared region could remarkably boost SIF’s retrieval accuracy, whereas red and near-infrared bands caused anomalous values, which subverted a traditional view that more retrieval regions might provide more photosynthetic information. …”

Cobalt Phthalocyanine Modified Electrodes Utilised in Electroanalysis: Nano-Structured Modified Electrodes vs. Bulk Modified Screen-Printed Electrodes by Christopher W. Foster, Jeseelan Pillay, Jonathan P. Metters, Craig E. Banks

    Published 2014-11-01
“…It is found that no “electrocatalysis” is observed towards L-ascorbic acid using either of these CoPC modified electrode configurations and that the bare underlying carbon electrode is the origin of the obtained voltammetric signal, which gives rise to useful electroanalytical signatures, providing new insights into literature reports where “electrocatalysis” has been reported with no clear control experiments undertaken. On the other hand true electrocatalysis is observed towards hydrazine, where no such voltammetric features are witnessed on the bare underlying electrode substrate.…”
