Aspects of frustrated magnetism
Published 2010“…

In this thesis, we investigate the collective behaviour of a paradigmatic frustrated magnet, the classical Heisenberg model on the pyrochlore lattice with antiferromagnetic nearest neighbour interactions. …”

Ageing in frustrated magnets
Published 1998“…An ageing phenomenon profoundly affects the dynamic physical properties of spin glasses and other frustrated magnetic systems. The dynamics of spin glasses including the ageing phenomenon is first recapitulated followed by a brief description of the dynamics and an analogous ageing behaviour that occurs in: the ferromagnetic phase of re-entrant spin glasses, concentrated magnetic particle systems and some diluted antiferromagnets at the percolation limit.…”

Emergent gauge dynamics of highly frustrated magnets
Published 2013-01-01“…Condensed matter exhibits a wide variety of exotic emergent phenomena such as the fractional quantum Hall effect and the low temperature cooperative behavior of highly frustrated magnets. I consider the classical Hamiltonian dynamics of spins of the latter phenomena using a method introduced by Dirac in the 1950s by assuming they are constrained to their lowest energy configurations as a simplifying measure. …”

Energy states in a frustrated magnetic system
Published 2015“…Frustrated magnetic systems, which consist of nano-sized ferromagnetic islands or geometrically arranged nanowires, have recently been used as a test bed to investigate the possibility of creating magnetic monopoles when the islands are aligned to a single point collectively. …”
