    “…No relationships detected between first-line CT and response to docetaxel.Grade ¾ neutropenia(52 pts â 48%); 4 pts present with febrile neutropenia and one had a toxic death. Main non-hematologic adverse events: alopecia(59%), asthenia(28%) and peripheral neuropathy(22%).Survival results:overall median survivalâ12.7 months;median survival after docetaxelâ6.1 mo;median time to progression(TTP)â12 weeks;1 and 2-year survival rates-19 and 7%, respectively.We considered these results as interesting mainly because >70% pts were refractory to 1st-line CT and >80% were in stage IV.We conclude that for NSCLC pts with PS<2, docetaxel as a 2nd-line-CT is a worthwile treatment with acceptable toxicity that significantly prolongs survival. …”
