The formation and evolution of low-surface-brightness galaxies
Published 2019“…While both theory and small, deep surveys have hinted at a rich population of low-surface-brightness galaxies (LSBGs) fainter than these limits, their formation remains poorly understood. …”

The origin of low-surface-brightness galaxies in the dwarf regime
Published 2021“…Low-surface-brightness galaxies (LSBGs) – defined as systems that are fainter than the surface-brightness limits of past wide-area surveys – form the overwhelming majority of galaxies in the dwarf regime (M⋆ < 109 M⊙). …”

Low-surface-brightness Galaxies are Missing in the Observed Stellar Mass Function
Published 2023-01-01“…The missing fraction of low-surface-brightness galaxies increases to 35%, 55%, and 80% at z = 0.9, 1.1, and 1.9, respectively, at the same SB limit.…”

Understanding the Chemical Evolution of Blue Edge-on Low Surface Brightness Galaxies
Published 2023-01-01“…We present a sample of 330 blue edge-on low surface brightness galaxies (ELSBGs). To understand the chemical evolution of ELSBGs, we derived the gas-phase abundance and the [ α /Fe] ratio. …”

SN 2016ije: An SN 2002es-like Type Ia Supernova Exploded in a Metal-poor and Low-surface Brightness Galaxy
Published 2023-01-01“…This peculiar object exploded in the outskirts of a metal-poor, low-surface brightness galaxy (i.e., M _g = −14.5 mag). Our photometric analysis reveals that SN 2016ije is subluminous ( ${M}_{B,\max }$ = −17.65 ± 0.06 mag) but exhibits relatively broad light curves (Δ m _15 ( B ) = 1.35 ± 0.14 mag), similar to the behavior of SN 2002es. …”
