NOON-state interference in the frequency domain by Dongjin Lee, Woncheol Shin, Sebae Park, Junyeop Kim, Heedeuk Shin

    Published 2024-04-01
“…In this paper, we demonstrate the photon number path entanglement in the frequency domain by implementing a frequency beam splitter that converts the single-photon frequency to another with 50% probability using Bragg scattering four-wave mixing. The two-photon NOON state in a single-mode fiber is generated in the frequency domain, manifesting the two-photon interference with two-fold enhanced resolution compared to that of single-photon interference, showing the outstanding stability of the interferometer. …”

A Candidate Dual QSO at Cosmic Noon by Eilat Glikman, Rachel Langgin, Makoto A. Johnstone, Ilsang Yoon, Julia M. Comerford, Brooke D. Simmons, Hannah Stacey, Mark Lacy, John M. O’Meara

    Published 2023-01-01
“…We report the discovery of a candidate dual QSO at z = 1.889, a redshift that is in the era known as “cosmic noon” where most of the universe’s black hole and stellar mass growth occurred. …”

Resolved Velocity Profiles of Galactic Winds at Cosmic Noon by Keerthi Vasan G. C., Tucker Jones, Ryan L. Sanders, Richard S. Ellis, Daniel P. Stark, Glenn G. Kacprzak, Tania M. Barone, Kim-Vy H. Tran, Karl Glazebrook, Colin Jacobs

    Published 2023-01-01
“…We study the kinematics of the interstellar medium (ISM) viewed “down the barrel” in 20 gravitationally lensed galaxies during cosmic noon ( z = 1.5–3.5). We use moderate-resolution spectra ( R ∼ 4000) from Keck’s Echellette Spectrograph and Imager and Magellan/MagE to spectrally resolve the ISM absorption in these galaxies into ∼10 independent elements and use double Gaussian fits to quantify the velocity structure of the gas. …”

Statistics of Galactic-scale Quasar Pairs at Cosmic Noon by Yue Shen, Hsiang-Chih Hwang, Masamune Oguri, Nianyi Chen, Tiziana Di Matteo, Yueying Ni, Simeon Bird, Nadia Zakamska, Xin Liu, Yu-Ching Chen, Kaitlin M. Kratter

    Published 2023-01-01
“…The statistics of galactic-scale quasar pairs can elucidate our understanding of the dynamical evolution of supermassive black hole (SMBH) pairs, the duty cycles of quasar activity in mergers, or even the nature of dark matter, but they have been challenging to measure at cosmic noon, the prime epoch of massive galaxy and SMBH formation. …”

Spatial structure of summertime ionospheric plasma near magnetic noon by R. W. Sims, R. W. Sims, S. E. Pryse, W. F. Denig

    Published 2005-01-01
“…The TOI was bounded in longitude by high-latitude troughs; the pre-noon trough on the morning side with a minimum near 78° N and the post-noon trough on the afternoon side with a minimum at 80° N. …”
