Effects of Liquid Metabolite Combinations from Lactobacillus Plantarums on Intestinal Microflora, Histology and Growth Performance of Piglets by Thu, Tran Van

    Published 2011
“…These studies indicated that metabolite combinations produced by L. plantarum strains are potential alternative to antibiotics use as growth promoter in pigs. Feeding of 0.5% metabolite combination containing TL1, RG14 and RS5 strains demonstrated the best effect on the performances of piglets.…”

    Published 2024-02-01
“…Pharmacokinetic multicompartment models were used to quantify regional [11C](R)-PK11195 lung uptake. [11C](R)-PK11195 lung uptake and CT-derived respiratory variables were studied regionally across eight lung regions distributed along the antero-posterior axis.ResultsFive pigs were randomized to each study group. Arterial O2 partial pressure to inspired O2 fraction were not significantly different between study groups after experimental ARDS induction (75 [68–80] mmHg in a PV group vs. 87 [69–133] mmHg in a UPV group, p = 0.20). …”

A rare bacterial infection of the gastrointestinal tract: Clostridium ventriculi by Sonali Mishra, Ashok Singh, Arvind Kumar, Ravi Hari Phulware

    Published 2024-02-01
“…Sarcina ventriculi is an obligate anaerobe gram-positive coccus with carbohydrate fermentative metabolism.2 In 1994, phylogenetic analyses (16 rRNA gene sequences) revealed that S ventriculi belonged to the genus Clostidium.3 However, in 2016, the genus S ventriculi to Clostridium ventriculi was proposed.4 The bacteria can survive in varied conditions, including low stomach pH.5 They are found in cereal seeds, soil, mud, and the stomachs of humans, rabbits, and guinea pigs.4 The natural habitat of Sarcina is the soil, and infection is contracted in humans and animals by ingesting food contaminated with soil particles.6 Primarily as a disease of the ruminants, its incidence in humans in the 19th century was very low; hence, the pathogenicity is not fully understood.5-6 Since 2010, however, a sudden rise in cases occurred, consistent with a reappearance in humans. …”
