Wiedmann rautenstrauch progeroid syndrome:case report
Published 1997-07-01“…premature aging of Wiedmann rautenstrauch type is a rare syndrome,of which only nine cases has been reported up to 1994.this syndrome is characterized by cardiac, mental and physical problems such as skull and vertebral malformation which can be diagnosed from birth.in this article a 24 year old woman is reportef who was reffered to interal medicine clinic with the chief complaint of palpitation and chest pain.in physical examination she was found to have a protruded frontal and parietal areas of the skull,depressed anterior fontanel,beaked nose.protruded eyes and chin,dry and atrophic skin,long and sparse scalp hair,ataxic gait,and severe scoliosis of cervical and thoracic spinal vertebra,which suggest Wiedmann rautenstrauch progeroid syndrome.problems like enlarged goiter,chronic anemia,severe scoliosis and exertional ischemic chest pain were her major causes of referral to the physician.…”
