Potential tumor suppressor role for the c-Myb oncogene in luminal breast cancer. by Aaron R Thorner, Joel S Parker, Katherine A Hoadley, Charles M Perou

    Published 2010-10-01
“…Stable RNAi knock-down of endogenous c-Myb in the MCF7 luminal breast tumor cell line increased tumorigenesis both in vitro and in vivo, suggesting a possible tumor suppressor role in luminal breast cancer. We created a mammary-derived c-Myb expression signature, comprised of both direct and indirect c-Myb target genes, and found it to be highly correlated with a published mature luminal mammary cell signature and least correlated with a mammary stem/progenitor lineage gene signature. These data describe, for the first time, a possible tumor suppressor role for the c-Myb proto-oncogene in breast cancer that has implications for the understanding of luminal tumorigenesis and for guiding treatment.…”

Estrogen-related receptor gamma functions as a tumor suppressor in gastric cancer by Myoung-Hee Kang, Hyunji Choi, Masanobu Oshima, Jae-Ho Cheong, Seokho Kim, Jung Hoon Lee, Young Soo Park, Hueng-Sik Choi, Mi-Na Kweon, Chan-Gi Pack, Ju-Seog Lee, Gordon B. Mills, Seung-Jae Myung, Yun-Yong Park

    Published 2018-05-01
“…Here the authors show estrogen-related receptor gamma (ESRRG) is a tumor suppressor in gastric cancer and suggest the mechanism of this tumor suppression function involves the inhibition of Wnt signaling.…”
