Association between extreme heat exposure and acute physiological change among steel mill workers in Terengganu, Malaysia
Published 2015“…The results from the study also shows there was no significant correlation between WBGT Index and acute health score (r=-0.5, p=0.86).The regression analysis suggested sweating (p<0.05), age (p<0.05), duration of heat exposure (hours) (p<0.001) and rating of perceived exertion (RPE) (p<0.001) are the predictors factors of acute health score (AHS). The finding in this study concluded that steel mill plant considered as a hot workplace area since most of their workplaces were exceed the acceptable temperatures, 28.2°C according to (ACGIH) Threshold Limit Value (TLV). …”

Analysis of Poly(ethylene terephthalate) degradation kinetics of evolved IsPETase variants using a surface crowding model
Published 2024“…Hence, we develop a surface crowding model to analyze the biochemical effects of three hit mutations (T116P, S238N, S290P) that enhanced ambient temperature activity and/or thermostability. We find that T116P decreases susceptibility to crowding, resulting in higher PET degradation product accumulation despite no change in intrinsic catalytic rate. …”

Plasmonic-induced overgrowth of amorphous molybdenum sulfide on nanoporous gold : an ambient synthesis method of hybrid nanoparticles with enhanced electrocatalytic activity
Published 2020“…By tuning the concentration ratio between the precursor and NPG, the amount of MoSx particles deposited can be systematically controlled from 0.5% to 2% of the Mo/(Au + Mo) ratio. Importantly, we find that the hybrid particles exhibit higher bridging and an apical S to terminal S atomic ratio than pure molybdenum sulfide, which gives rise to their enhanced electrocatalytic performance for hydrogen evolution reaction. …”

Elongated magma plumbing system beneath the Coso volcanic field, California, constrained by seismic reflection tomography
Published 2023“…Our final velocity model reveals a prominent low-velocity body sitting right beneath the CVF at 5–20 km depths, which we interpret as a rhyolite magma reservoir that supplies heat flux to the hot springs and also feeds the volcanic activities at Coso. We find that the upper-middle crustal low-velocity body dips southwards into the lower crust, extending to regions beneath the Indian Wells Valley and the Garlock Fault at depth greater than 20 km. …”
