Seismic attenuation tomography from 2018 Lombok earthquakes, Indonesia
Published 2021“…A low P-wave quality factor (low-Qp), low P-wave velocity (Vp), and high ratio of P-wave velocity and S-wave velocity (Vp/Vs), which coincide with a shallower earthquake (<20 km) northwest of Lombok Island, might be associated with a brittle area of basal and imbricated faults influenced by high fluid content. At the same time, the high-Qp, low Vp, and low Vp/Vs, which coincide with a deeper earthquake (>20 km) northeast of Lombok Island, might be associated with an area that lacks fluid content. …”

Comparative spatial predictions of the locations of soil-rock interface
Published 2021“…The spatial trend of the geological interface cannot be captured by the polynomial regression method with a relatively high (i.e., 10) order of the polynomial when faults and folds exist. Advantages of the spline regression method over the conditional random field methods include that (i) it provides a clear and explicit spatial trend of the SRI, which well reflects the geological complexity of the sites; (ii) it avoids the cumbersome estimation of random field parametric values, which is a challenging task under the condition of limited data; and (iii) it can differentiate the zones with different prediction accuracies, which cannot be accomplished by the conditional random field method due to limited data. …”

A facile approach to nanoarchitectured three-dimensional graphene-based Li–Mn–O composite as high-power cathodes for Li-ion batteries
Published 2013“…The Mn2O3/graphene hybrid is synthesized by exfoliation of graphene sheets and deposition of Mn2O3 in a one-step electrochemical process, which is followed by lithiation in a molten salt reaction. There are several advantages of using the LMO/G as cathodes in Li-ion batteries: (1) the LMO/G electrode shows high specific capacities at high gravimetric current densities with excellent cycling stability, e.g., 84 mAh·g−1 during the 500th cycle at a discharge current density of 5625 mA·g−1 (~38.01 C capacity rating) in the voltage window of 3–4.5 V; (2) the LMO/G hybrid can buffer the Jahn–Teller effect, which depicts excellent Li storage properties at high current densities within a wider voltage window of 2–4.5 V, e.g., 93 mAh·g−1 during the 300th cycle at a discharge current density of 5625 mA·g−1 (~38.01 C). …”
