Colossal positive magnetoresistance in surface-passivated oxygen-deficient strontium titanite
Published 2015“…Here we report colossal positive magnetoresistance (CPMR) (>30,000% at a temperature of 2 K and a magnetic field of 9 T) discovered in degenerate semiconducting strontium titanite (SrTiO3) single crystals capped with ultrathin SrTiO3/LaAlO3 bilayers. The low-pressure high-temperature homoepitaxial growth of several unit cells of SrTiO3 introduces oxygen vacancies and high-mobility carriers in the bulk SrTiO3, and the three-unit-cell LaAlO3 capping layer passivates the surface and improves carrier mobility by suppressing surface-defect-related scattering. …”

Cytoplasmic long noncoding RNAs are frequently bound to and degraded at ribosomes in human cells
Published 2016“…Polysomal lncRNAs are distinguished by a number of 5′ mRNA-like features, including capping and 5′UTR length. On the other hand, nonpolysomal “free cytoplasmic” lncRNAs have more conserved promoters and a wider range of expression across cell types. …”

Colloidal semiconductor nanocrystals for light-emitting devices : from materials to device perspectives
Published 2019“…A combination of the peripheral edge passivation through crown growth and a gradiently alloyed shell achieving flat surface capping, while also suppressing Auger recombination by smoothening the interface electrostatic potential, leads to the increased PL QY and makes surface chemical robustness possible. …”

Learning design for short-duration e-textile workshops: outcomes on knowledge and skills
Published 2024“…We further document a series of emerging challenges, including the children’s unwillingness to engage or lack of adeptness with software, a tension between aesthetics and construction, creativity limited by samples of previous e-textile projects, and the difficulty in grasping the materiality of e-textiles. We propose that some direct instruction and facilitation is not incompatible with the making ethos; the approach can help address these challenges, allowing young children to benefit from their participation in short-duration e-textile workshops.…”

A flexible endoscopic robotic suturing system for gastrointestinal perforations : animal study
Published 2020“…We developed a flexible endoscopic robotic suturing system which can endoscopically close gastrointestinal wounds with standard stitches and knots using a robotic suturing arm (Ø4.4 mm) and a grasping arm (Ø4.2 mm). Both arms are flexible, through-the-scope, and have five Degrees Of Freedom (DOFs). …”

Vertical distribution of heavy metals in seawater column during IBA construction in land reclamation – re-exploration of a large-scale field trial experiment
Published 2019“…As the current study took account of major field factors during land reclamation, including seawater depth (m), IBA loading (ton), IBA dropping method, particle dispersive area (m2), and settling time (min), these findings are valuable for the risk assessment of IBA utilization in land reclamation.…”

Mitigating initial capacity loss for practical lithium-ion battery
Published 2021“…While numerous promising anode materials with optimized electrochemical performance, such as fast-charging capability and long-term stability have been developed, they still suffer from low initial Coulombic efficiency (ICE) due to solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) formation and lithium trapping, which impede their commercialization. In this thesis, new insights and strategies for the two mechanisms leading to initial capacity loss (ICL) based on different type of anode materials were investigated.…”
