Impact of dust deposition on PV performance and hotspot generation: I-V and thermal analysis with SEM and UV-VIS-NIR
Published 2024“…Spectroscopic analysis using UV-VIS-NIR techniques demonstrated that the dust exhibited strong ultraviolet light absorption, moderate absorption in the visible range around 450 nm wavelength, and relatively low absorption in the near-infrared region. Morphological examination through scanning electron microscopy (SEM) unveiled irregularly shaped dust particles with varying size distributions, while energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) identified carbon, oxygen, aluminum, and silicon as major elemental constituents contributing to light absorption and scattering effects. …”

Climate projections for Himalaya–Tibetan Highland
Published 2024“…On the contrary, the multi-model mean of 8 best models (MM8) could simulate the spatial distributions better than MMM by alleviating the wet biases (~2 mm day−1) over the southern and eastern HTH, whilst no significant improvement is noted in near surface temperature (Tas). The simulated decreasing (increasing) trends for Tas (precipitation) are found to be less satisfactory in both the MMMs. …”

Iridium Oxide Coordinatively Unsaturated Active Sites Govern the Electrocatalytic Oxidation of Water
Published 2024“…By combining operando resonant photoemission measurements of different films with ab initio simulations these are able to unambiguously distinguish µ2‐O (bridging oxygen) and µ1‐O (terminal oxygen) in the near‐surface regions of the catalysts. The intrinsic activity of iridium oxide scales with the formation of µ1‐O (terminal oxygen) is found. …”

Real-time identification and visualization of Egyptian blue using modified night vision goggles
Published 2024“…The possibility to use light in the visible spectrum to induce near-infrared luminescence in some materials, particularly Egyptian blue and related pigments, offers a significant advantage in terms of their detection. …”

What the visual system can learn from the non-dominant hand: The effect of graphomotor engagement on visual discrimination
Published 2024“…However, existing studies have emphasized the dominant hand, which is superiorly dexterous in fine-motor movements. This near-exclusive focus prompts the inquiry of whether the observed perceptual facilitation is a general characteristic of the motor system, or specific to pathways controlling the skilled over-trained dominant hand. …”

JWST sighting of decameter main-belt asteroids and view on meteorite sources
Published 2024“…While large asteroids (≥100 km) have remained in the main belt since their formation, small asteroids are commonly transported to the near-Earth object (NEO) population. However, due to the lack of direct observational constraints, their size-frequency distribution —which informs our understanding of the NEOs and the delivery of meteorite samples to Earth—varies significantly among models. …”

Accelerating Urban Building Energy Modeling
Published 2024“…The methodology presented is intended to be utilized for both very-large-scale systematic analysis and near-real-time interactive explorations. In developing this framework, we aim to provide new mechanisms for key stakeholders in the decarbonization effort to quickly generate actionable insights and engage in iterative discussions to develop evidence-based policy across global building stocks.…”

An isolated bipolar DC-DC converter for energy storage integration in marine vessels
Published 2019“…The integration of battery energy storage systems (BESSs) in the MVDC distribution system enables peak shaving of generators, optimal scheduling of generators, and near instantaneous power reserve. In this paper, an isolated bipolar dc-dc converter is presented which interfaces the BESS with the bipolar dc distribution bus. …”

Interpretation of an anomalous peak in low-temperature photoluminescence measurements of bulk GaAs[sub 1−x]N[sub x] on GaAs
Published 2013“…The peak is due to the accumulation of N content near the GaAs/GaAsN interface. Hence, this abnormal annealing behavior occurs in layers with nonuniform N concentration at the GaAsN/GaAs interface.…”
