The utilization of chitin and chitosan as green modifiers in nanocomposite membrane for water treatment
Published 2024“…Contaminants in water bodies degrade the water's quality and render it unsuitable for human consumption. When weighed against the environmental consequences associated with petroleum-derived polymers, biopolymers exhibit notable advantages over petroleum-based polymers in terms of cost-effectiveness and eco-friendliness. …”

A Multi-satellite Perspective on “Hot Tower” Characteristics in the Equatorial Trough Zone
Published 2024“…Cloud vertical profiles from CloudSat and CALIPSO measurements supply convective core diameters and proxies for intensity and convective activity, and these proxies are augmented with brightness temperature data from geostationary satellite observations, precipitation information from IMERG, and cloud radiative properties from CERES. Less than 35% of all deep cores are classified as hot towers, and we estimate that 800–1700 hot towers occur at any given time over the course of a day, with the mean maximum core and hot tower frequency occurring at the time of year when peak convective intensity and precipitation occur. …”

Influence of active subsystems on electric vehicle behavior and energy characteristics
Published 2015“…The selected open-loop maneuvers cover steady-state and transient vehicle behavior. Slowly Steer Increasing maneuver demonstrated that all considered subsystems have notable influence on the steering characteristic of the vehicle in the transient area. …”

Autonomous navigation system
Published 2023“…Even after three decades, there are still few real-world strategies that can be used because most techniques in use are based on exaggeratedly optimistic presumptions. When using multiple robots, the agents besides steer clear of obstacles but also prevent collisions with one another, the effects of having unknowledgeable or only vaguely understood maps and states estimate drift increases dramatically [11]. …”

The Brazilian disc test for rock mechanics applications : review and new insights
Published 2013“…The maximum tensile stress and the maximum tensile strain are both found to occur about 5 mm away from the two loading points along the compressed diameter of the disc, instead of at the center of the disc surface. Therefore, the crack initiation point of the Brazilian test for rocks may be located near the loading point when the tensile strain meets the maximum extension strain criterion, but at the surface center when the tensile stress meets the maximum tensile strength criterion.…”
