Unravelling 2-oxoglutarate turnover and substrate oxidation dynamics in 5-methylcytosine-oxidising TET enzymes by Šimelis, K, Belle, R, Kawamura, A

    Published 2024
“…Simultaneous detection of substrate and cofactors is difficult, contributing to a poor understanding of the dynamics between substrate oxidation and 2OG decarboxylation activities. Here, we profile 5-methylcytosine (5mC)-oxidising Ten-Eleven Translocation (TET) enzymes using MS and 1H NMR spectroscopy methods and reveal a high degree of substrate oxidation-independent 2OG turnover under a range of conditions. 2OG decarboxylase activity is substantial (>20% 2OG turned over after 1 h) in the absence of substrate, while, under substrate-saturating conditions, half of total 2OG consumption is uncoupled from substrate oxidation. 2OG kinetics are affected by substrate and non-substrate DNA oligomers, and the sequence-agnostic effects are observed in amoeboflagellate Naegleria gruberi NgTet1 and human TET2. …”

Effect of Co on twin formation and magnetic properties of Sm(Fe,Ti,V)12 alloys by Tozman, P, Hrkac, G, Patrick, CE, Staunton, JB, Saito, T, Sasaki, T, Ohkubo, T, Sepehri-Amin, H

    Published 2024
“…Here we have shown that the addition of Co in Sm(Fe1-xCox)10&ndash;11M1&ndash;2&nbsp;alloys, where&nbsp;<em>M</em>=Ti and V, leads to an increase in twin density. Microstructural characterizations revealed that the atomic arrangement in the twin boundary changes depending on the stabilizing element, which directly influences the local intrinsic magnetic properties. …”

Broadband strip-line ferromagnetic resonance spectroscopy of soft magnetic CoFeTaZr patterned thin films by Jin, Tian Li, Nongjai, R., Asokan, K., Ghosh, A., Aparnadevi, M., Suri, P., Piramanayagam, S. N., Gupta, Surbhi, Kumar, Durgesh

    Published 2018
“…In this paper, magnetic and magnetization dynamic properties of compositionally patterned Co46Fe40Ta9Zr5 thin films are investigated. A combination of self-assembly and ion-implantation was employed to locally alter the composition of Co46Fe40Ta9Zr5 thin film in a periodic manner. 20 keV O+ and 60 keV N+ ions were implanted at different doses in order to modify the magnetization dynamic properties of the samples in a controlled fashion. …”
