Estimating evolutionary and demographic parameters via ARG-derived IBD
Published 2025“…Inference of evolutionary and demographic parameters from a sample of genome sequences often proceeds by first inferring identical-by-descent (IBD) genome segments. By exploiting efficient data encoding based on the ancestral recombination graph (ARG), we obtain three major advantages over current approaches: (i) no need to impose a length threshold on IBD segments, (ii) IBD can be defined without the hard-to-verify requirement of no recombination, and (iii) computation time can be reduced with little loss of statistical efficiency using only the IBD segments from a set of sequence pairs that scales linearly with sample size. …”

Modelling the rheology of living cell cytoplasm: poroviscoelasticity and fluid-to-solid transition
Published 2024“…Baseline simulations (neglecting the viscosity of the cytosol) indicate that the system exhibits seven different regimes across the parameter space spanned by the viscoelastic relaxation timescale of the cytoskeleton and the poroelastic diffusion timescale; these regimes agree qualitatively with experimental measurements. …”

Thermoplastic polymer nanocomposites based on polydopamine-coated clay : preparation, structures and properties
Published 2014“…This strong interfacial interaction between D-clay and hard segments not only facilitates the stress transfer across the filler and polymer matrix, but also acts as nucleating agent for hard segment crystallization, leading to higher hard segment crystallinity. …”

Published 2014“…While there are distinct differences between mucinous epithelial ovarian cancer (mEOC) and the other subtypes of EOC, a standard treatment regimen is followed for all EOC histotypes. KRAS mutations have been observed to occur in relatively high frequencies of 50-60% in mEOC but not in other subtypes of EOC in at least three clinical studies. …”
