Charge-depletion-enhanced WSe2 quantum emitters on gold nanogap arrays with near-unity quantum efficiency by Cai, Hongbing, Rasmita, Abdullah, He, Ruihua, Zhang, Zhaowei, Tan, Qinghai, Chen, Disheng, Wang, Naizhou, Mu, Zhao, Eng, John J. H., She, Yongzhi, Pan, Nan, Wang, Qian, Dong, Zhaogang, Wang, Xiaoping, Wang, Juan, Miao, Yansong, Singh, Ranjan, Qiu, Cheng-Wei, Liu, Xiaogang, Gao, Weibo

Published 2024
“…In this condition, for site-controlled SPEs in WSe2 coupled to gold nanogaps, the SPE transition quantum efficiency after gating is increased to 76.4 ± 14.6% on average, with some SPEs reaching near-unity (more than 90%) quantum efficiency. This study provides a new approach for tuning SPEs with an applied gate voltage and motivates further theoretical and experimental studies of SPE enhancement on vertically aligned nanogaps.…”

A dual-functional benzobisthiadiazole derivative as an effective theranostic agent for near-infrared photoacoustic imaging and photothermal therapy by Huang, Shuo, Upputuri, Paul Kumar, Liu, Hui, Pramanik, Manojit, Wang, Mingfeng

Published 2016
“…Herein, we report a theranostic agent based on a narrow-‐bandgap small molecule, benzo[1,2-c;4,5-c’]bis[1,2,5]thiadiazole-4,7-bis(9,9-dioctyl-9H-fluoren-2-yl)thiophene (denoted as BBT-2FT), with strong absorption of near infrared (NIR) light. Colloidal nanoparticles composed of BBT‐2FT show photoacoustic signal intensity 10 times higher than that of blood, and high photothermal conversion efficiency (η=40%) under irradiation of 800-nm laser light that kills over 90% HeLa cells in 10 mins.…”

Published 2024
“…
Conclusion
At the current cost of £513 per course, molnupiravir is unlikely to be cost-effective relative to usual care over a 6-month time horizon among mainly vaccinated patients with COVID-19 at increased risk of adverse outcomes, except those aged ≥75 years.…”
