    Molybdenum disulfide (MoS_2) as a broadband saturable absorber for ultra-fast photonics by Zhang, H, Lu, S B, Zheng, J, Du, J, Wen, S C, Tang, D Y, Loh, K P

    Published 2014
“…Our laser experiment shows that few-layer MoS2-based mode locker allows for the generation of stable mode-locked laser pulse, centered at 1054.3 nm, with a 3-dB spectral bandwidth of 2.7 nm and a pulse duration of 800 ps. Our finding suggests that few-layered MoS2 nanoplatelets can be useful nonlinear optical material for laser photonics devices, such as passive laser mode locker, Q-switcher, optical limiter, optical switcher and so on.…”

Stearic acid-coated superhydrophobic Fe2O3/Fe3O4 composite film on N80 steel for corrosion protection by Hu, Jun, He, Shijun, Wang, Zhen, Zhu, Jianbo, Wei, Liping, Chen, Zhong

    Published 2020
“…Furthermore, the superhydrophobic Fe2O3/Fe3O4 composite film also showed excellent self-cleaning ability and was able to maintain its anti-wettability when immersed in water. Our work finds that the concentration of NaOH in the second hydrothermal method is a critical factor for the morphology of the Fe2O3 film and the annealing treatment plays a significant role in realizing the superhydrophobic stearic acid coated micro-nanostructure Fe2O3/Fe3O4 composite.…”

Argon-plasma-controlled optical reset in the SiO2/Cu filamentary resistive memory stack by Kawashima, T., Yew, K. S., Kyuno, K., Zhou, Yu, Ang, Diing Shenp, Zhang, H. Z.

    Published 2018
“…These vacancies in turn adsorb water molecules, which act as counter anions (OH-) promoting the migration of Cu cations into the oxide and forming a more complete Cu filament that is less responsive to light. The finding points to the prospect of a control over the optical resistance reset effect by a simple surface treatment step.…”

Coating graphene paper with 2D-assembly of electrocatalytic nanoparticles : a modular approach toward high-performance flexible electrodes by Xiao, Fei, Song, Jibin, Gao, Hongcai, Zan, Xiaoli, Xu, Rong, Duan, Hongwei

    Published 2013
“…We have shown that the 2D array of gold nanoparticles at oil–water interfaces can be transferred on freestanding graphene oxide paper, leading to a monolayer of densely packed gold nanoparticles of uniform sizes loaded on graphene oxide paper. One major finding is that the postassembly electrochemical reduction of graphene oxide paper restores the ordered structure and electron-transport properties of graphene, and gives rise to robust and biocompatible freestanding electrodes with outstanding electrocatalytic activities, which have been manifested by the sensitive and selective detection of two model analytes: glucose and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) secreted by live cells. …”
