Steering perovskite precursor solutions for multijunction photovoltaics
Published 2024“…Multijunction photovoltaics (PVs) are gaining prominence owing to their superior capability of achieving power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) beyond the radiative limit of single-junction cells1-8, where improving narrow bandgap tin–lead perovskites is critical for thin-film devices9. With a focus on understanding the chemistry of tin–lead perovskite precursor solutions, we herein find that Sn(II) species dominate interactions with precursors and additives and uncover the exclusive role of carboxylic acid in regulating solution colloidal properties and film crystallisation, and ammonium in improving film optoelectronic properties. …”

Hofstadter Physics and Composite Fermionic Phase in Moiré Systems
Published 2024“…Building on this framework, we delve into the concept of composite fermions, particularly in the context of the fractional quantum Hall effect (FQHE). We extend Jain’s composite fermion theory and the Chern-Simons field theory to Moiré TMD systems, proposing the existence of an anomalous composite fermion liquid state at half-filling. …”

2D-3D perovskite memristor with low energy consumption and high stability for neural morphology calculation
Published 2023“…Moreover, this perovskite-based artificial synapse has ultra-low power consumption due to the switchable p-i-n structure in organic-inorganic halide perovskites. Our finding highlights the immense application potential of the 2D-3D perovskite memristor in the future neuromorphic computing system.…”

Surface composition dependent ligand effect in tuning the activity of nickel–copper bimetallic electrocatalysts toward hydrogen evolution in alkaline
Published 2021“…Unfortunately, the principles that governs alkaline HER performance remain unclear and are still under debate. By studying the alkaline HER at a series of NiCu bimetallic surfaces, where the electronic structure is modulated by ligand effect, we demonstrate that alkaline HER activity can be correlated with either the calculated or the experimental-measured d band center (an indicator of hydrogen binding energy) via a volcano-type relationship. …”
