Carrier localization on the nanometer-scale limits transport in metal oxide photoabsorbers by Schleuning, Markus, Kölbach, Moritz, Ahmet, Ibbi, Präg, Raphael, Gottesman, Ronen, Gunder, Rene, Zhang, Mengyuan, Wargulski, Dan Ralf, Abou-Ras, Daniel, Grave, Daniel A., Abdi, Fatwa F., van de Krol, Roel, Schwarzburg, Klaus, Eichberger, Rainer, Friedrich, Dennis, Hempel, Hannes

    Published 2023
“…Their kinetics of thermalization, trapping, localization, and recombination are monitored continuously 100 fs–100 µs and mobilities are determined for different probing lengths by combined time-resolved terahertz and microwave spectroscopy. As common issue, we find small mobilities < 3 cm2V-1s-1. Partial carrier localization further slows carrier diffusion beyond localization lengths of 1–6 nm and explains the extraordinarily long conductivity tails, which should not be taken as a sign of long diffusion lengths. …”

Terahertz conductivity of topological surface states in Bi1.5Sb0.5Te1.8Se1.2 by Tang, Chi Sin, Xia, Bin, Zou, Xingquan, Chen, Shi, Ou, Hong-Wei, Wang, Lan, Rusydi, A., Zhu, Jian-Xin, Chia, Elbert E. M.

    Published 2014
“…Using Terahertz Time-Domain Spectroscopy (THz-TDS), we present complex conductivity of BSTS single crystals, disentangling the surface and bulk contributions. We find that the Drude spectral weight is 1–2 orders of magnitude smaller than in other Bi-based topological insulators, and similar to that of Bi2Se3 thin films, suggesting a significant contribution of the topological surface states to the conductivity of the BSTS sample. …”

Strain engineering of antimonene by a first-principles study : mechanical and electronic properties by Kripalani, Devesh Raju, Kistanov, Andrey A., Cai, Yongqing, Xue, Ming, Zhou, Kun

    Published 2020
“…Interestingly, the application of uniaxial strain in the zigzag and armchair directions unveil direction-dependent trends in the electronic band structure. We find that the nature of the band gap remains insensitive to strain in the zigzag direction, while strain in the armchair direction activates an indirect-direct band gap transition at a critical strain of 4%, owing to a band switching mechanism. …”

Solution-processed highly bright and durable cesium lead halide perovskite light-emitting diodes by Wei, Zhanhua, Perumal, Ajay, Su, Rui, Sushant, Shendre, Xing, Jun, Zhang, Qing, Tan, Swee Tiam, Demir, Hilmi Volkan, Xiong, Qihua

    Published 2020
“…The precursor solution is prepared by simply dissolving CsPbBr3 powder and a CsBr additive in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO). We find that the CsBr additive not only significantly enhances the PLQY but also induces directional crystal growth into micro-plates, forming a smooth perovskite film for LEDs. …”

Compressive strength of cemented sand by Chong, Ying Jie.

    Published 2013
“…In this paper, the four main factors affecting the compressive strength of cemented sand will be investigated: water-cement ratio of 0.5, 0.6, 0.7; sand-cement ratio of 4.0, 5.0, 6.0; curing age at 3, 7 and 28 days; strain rate of 0.5mm/min, 1.0mm/min, and 2.0 mm/min. The other factors such as dry density, sample dimensions (height and diameter), curing conditions were kept constant. …”

Report for project A1017-101on hybrid solar PV thermal (PVT) system using a tracking solar trough I by Cheung, Wai Kin.

    Published 2011
“…A simple verification study on the effects of heat on the cell output was therefore performed in conjunction with an investigation on the possibility of harnessing of warm water from the output of the cooling system for domestic purposes to maximise the potential of the application. The findings on the 2 above mentioned studies appeared that at this level of convergence of sunlight, the heat effects is not pronounced when applied with a cooling system running at 0.448l/min & 0.938l/min respectively. …”
