Fabrication of high-performance thin-film composite and nanochannel-enabled next-generation membranes for water desalination
Published 2023“…Based on this theoretical understanding, Chapter 4 studies the possibility to fabricate robust and high-performance membranes by optimizing the support layer of thin-film composite (TFC)-SWRO membranes. Because the performance of a composite membrane is determined by both the support and active layer, it was attempted to scrutinize the nanoscale characteristics of the polyamide active layer that determine the separation capabilities of TFC membranes (Chapter 5). …”

Processing-structure-property relationships in practical thin solid-electrolyte separators for all-solid-state batteries
Published 2024“…Herein, we report the preparation of Li6PS5Cl-based thin SE separators incorporating suitable binders for potential use in ASSBs by two scalable wet processing techniques: tape-casting with nitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR) and calendering with carboxylated nitrile butadiene rubber (XNBR). …”

Effect of pH and current density on Nd-Fe-B thin films prepared by pulsed electrodeposition
Published 2009“…Deposit with the best magnetic properties was synthesized at a solution pH of 3.5 and CD set at 100mA/cm2. Coercivity of the film was reported to be 395G Moreover, a relationship between the IG content deposited and CD was established in the author’s thesis which may serve as a good reference for future studies.…”

Role of pH of precursor solution in taming the material properties of spray pyrolysed SnS thin films
Published 2013“…From the study we could optimize the pH of precursor solution required for the deposition of device quality SnS thin films. Resistivity of the films was brought down by three orders (to 6 × 10−2 Ω cm) along with enhancement in grain size as well as photosensitivity by optimizing the pH of the precursor solution alone. …”

Electron radiation-induced material diffusion and nanocrystallization in nanostructured amorphous CoFeB thin film
Published 2020“…With in-situ TEM, we investigated the electron beam radiation-induced material diffusion and the nanocrystallization behaviors in nanostructured amorphous CowFexByOz/Co60Fe20B20/SiO2 thin films. It was found that electron radiation with different electron dose led to massive diffusion of Co, Fe, B and O atoms across the whole thin film layers, which directly resulted in the modification of the phase and composition of the thin film layers, i.e. the oxidation of Co, Fe, B with O diffusion and the formation of pure Si phase from SiO2. …”

The first example of the two‐electron reduction of a phosphaalkyne – synthesis and structural characterisation of the diuranium(IV) pentalene complex [(U{η5‐C5Me5}{η8‐C8H4(SiiPr3‐1,4)2})2(μ‐η2:η1‐tBuCP)]
Published 2013“…The facile two‐electron reduction of the phosphaalkyne tBuC≡P by the UIII cyclopentadienyl–pentalene mixed‐sandwich complex [U(η5‐C5Me5){η8‐C8H4(SiiPr3)2}] is reported. A single‐crystal X‐ray structural analysis of the diuranium(IV) product [(U{η5‐C5Me5}{η8‐C8H4(SiiPr3)2})2(μ‐tBuCP)] shows that it contains a slightly unsymmetrical, bridging μ‐η2:η1‐ligated phosphaalkene dianion.…”
