The nature and determinants of user-generated content for dissatisfied customers: evidence from second-hand luxury fashion brands by Ozuem, Wilson, Willis, Michelle, Ranfagni, Silvia, Rovai, Serena, Howell, Kerry

    Published 2024
“…Design/methodology/approach Building on an inductive qualitative study of 59 millennials from three European countries (France, Italy and the UK) and by examining the mediating role of UGC and dissatisfied customers, this paper develops a conceptual framework of three clusters of second-hand luxury fashion goods customers: spiritual consumers, entrepreneurial recoverer consumers and carpe diem consumers. Findings The proposed SEC framework (spiritual consumers, entrepreneurial recoverer consumers, and carpe diem consumers) illustrates how the emerging themes interconnect with the identified consumers, revealing significant consumer actions and attitudes found in the second-hand luxury goods sector that influence the usage of UGC and its integration into service failure and recovery efforts Originality/value This study suggested that the perceptions of consumers seeking second-hand luxury fashion products differ from those who purchase new or never previously owned luxury fashion products. …”

Metabolomic characterisation of low-density lipoproteins isolated from iodixanol and KBr-based density gradient ultracentrifugation by Webb, Richard, Lodge, John, Scott, Sophie, Davies, Ian

    Published 2025
“…Differences were shown in the molecular composition of LDL prepared using SBUC and IGUC; in positive mode ionisation, the PLS-DA model showed reasonable fit and discriminatory power (R2 = 0.63, Q2 = 0.58, accuracy 0.88) and permutation testing was significant (p < 0.001). Conclusions: The findings reveal distinct differences in the small molecule composition of LDL prepared using the two methods, with IGUC exhibiting greater variation. …”

Advancing cyber incident timeline analysis through retrieval-augmented generation and large language models by Loumachi, Fatma Yasmine, Ghanem, Mohamed Chahine, Ferrag, Mohamed Amine

    Published 2025
“…The proposed framework was tested on synthetic cyber incident events in a controlled environment, with results assessed using DFIR-tailored, context-specific metrics designed to evaluate the framework’s performance, reliability, and robustness, supported by human evaluation to validate the accuracy and reliability of the outcomes. Our findings demonstrate the practical power of LLMs in advancing the automation of cyber-incident timeline analysis, a subfield within DFIR. …”

    Published 2016
“…Not only do CU representations predict QoL outcomes, they are amenable to change via intervention as are QoL outcomes. Such findings have implications for CU-related QoL research and how health psychology-dermatology collaborations maybe instrumental to improving outcome through psycho-education interventions in routine care to facilitate better CU self-management.…”
