Exploring population structure, antibiotic resistance and horizontal gene transfer in Neisseria gonorrhoeae
Published 2024“…The results were as follows: 1) A new, stable taxonomic nomenclature using LIN codes was developed, and demonstrated to provide improved resolution and reliability when defining gonococcal lineages. 2) The most common species contributing to mosaic N. gonorrhoeae penA alleles were shown to be Neisseria subflava and Neisseria cinerea, and resistance associated polymorphisms were found to be widespread across the genus. 3) African gonococci were shown to predominantly carry non-mosaic penA alleles and belong to a distinct range of lineages, with LIN code lineage 0_0_33 dominating, while common global lineages 0_2_0 and 0_2_1 were rare.…”

Experimental Characterization of Iron-Sulfur Cluster Excited States and their Relevance to Electron Transfer Reactions
Published 2024“…Here, we simplify this problem first by recognizing that imposing a particular ligand field symmetry (namely 3:1 site differentiation) on a [Fe₄S₄] cluster causes some of its excited states to become degenerate in well-defined ways. This in mind, we describe the synthesis of an array of 3:1 site-differentiated [Fe₄S₄]¹⁺ clusters, and characterize them by variable temperature (VT) solution NMR spectroscopy and magnetometry. …”

Multimodal radar with wide band communication system
Published 2020“…Such applications could vary from map imaging, moving target detection to doppler radar and they may also differ in their electromagnetic wave propagation from Line-of-Sight (LOS) to Non-LOS [1]. With that in mind, this project involves working with two distinct radar systems, namely a Drone-Based (LOS), Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Imaging System and a Wall Penetration (Non-LOS), Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) Moving Target Detection Radar System. …”
