Simultaneous polymerization and adhesion under hypoxia in sickle cell disease
Published 2019“…We show that (i) hypoxia significantly enhances sickle RBC adherence; (ii) HbS polymerization enhances sickle cell adherence in SRs and SMEs, but not in ISCs; (iii) SRs exhibit unique adhesion dynamics where HbS fiber projections growing outward from the cell surface create multiple sites of adhesion; and (iv) polymerization stimulates adhesion and vice versa, thereby establishing the bidirectional coupling between the two processes. …”

“Encouraged to be your true self”: an interpretative phenomenological study of medical students’ experiences of role models in shaping sexual minority identity at medical school...
Published 2025“…From these results, we built upon existing social cognitive paradigms to develop a ‘doublefunnel’ model to represent how social contexts can map onto individual SM identities and vice versa, mediated by role models. The triangulation of these three aspects in relation to medical education presents novel understandings to the field. …”

Organic donor-acceptor cocrystals for multiferroic applications
Published 2021“…The cocrystallization strategy has provided an efficient route to fulfill room temperature magnetoelectricity in single phase owing to the long-range ordered π-π stacking (donor-acceptor assembled) network, long-lived excitons (with μs lifetime), spin orders (±1/2 s pin) and charge transfer (CT) dipoles in the assembled crystal lattice. …”

The Portevin-Le Chatelier effect of Cu-2.0Be alloy during hot compression
Published 2023“…As the strain rate increases, the dislocations outpace the diffusion speed of the solute atoms, limiting their ability to effectively pin the dislocations, resulting in lower dislocation density and serration amplitude. …”

Compatability and equilibrium approach to slender concrete column design (dual project)
Published 2017“…This report evaluates and compares the proposed design method with the Australian code AS3600-2001 for slender concrete column. The failure loads of pin-end columns under short term loading and uniaxial bending are used as a pre-determined factor to analyse the data. …”

Report for project A1017-101on hybrid solar PV thermal (PVT) system using a tracking solar trough I
Published 2011“…The findings on the 2 above mentioned studies appeared that at this level of convergence of sunlight, the heat effects is not pronounced when applied with a cooling system running at 0.448l/min & 0.938l/min respectively. It is also witnessed that the temperature behind the cell with cooling at 0.448 l/min reached 63.7°C, while the water harnessed from the cooling system output reach 57.5°C which is comparable to water temperature in the hot spring. …”

Published 2016“…When morally ordered, it is referred to as the virtue of studiositas, and when morally disordered, the vice of curiositas. If human persons possess an intellectual appetite, if what they know affects how they live, and if they undergo some kind of formal education, then it is reasonable for individual learners to critically consider who or what is forming their intellectual appetites and what they expect formal academic institutions to help them accomplish. …”
