Novel opto-electronic and plastic fibre sensors
Published 1998“…The middle POF is coupled to a red LED and emits light onto a flat target with the two outer fibres receiving the reflected light from the target and guiding it to two silicon PIN photodiodes. Theoretical investigations on the behaviour of the sensor are presented for ranges between 0 mm and 100 mm, and for targets with different reflectivities. …”

Two Potts Models on Cayley Tree of Arbitrary Order
Published 2012“…On a Cayley tree of arbitrary order k we consider two different Potts models with competing nearest-neighbour interactions J1 and next-nearest-neighbour interactions Jp and Jo, where coupling Jp corresponds to interaction of spins belonging to the same branch of the tree (prolonged) and coupling Jo corresponds to interaction of spins belonging to the same shell of the tree (one-level) and find for each model in addition to the expected paramagnetic, ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic phases, an intermediate range of coupling values where the local magnetization has chaotic oscillatory glass-like behaviour. …”

Shear strength analysis of concrete beams reinforced with GFRP bars using strut and tie model
Published 2011“…The experimental approved that the spacing between shear cracks for the specimens with larger shear span to depth ratio is greater than the smaller shear span to depth ratio and while the shear span to depth ratio (a/d) decreases, the shear strength increase. …”

Ising model with competing “uncle–nephew” interactions
Published 2016“…We consider the Ising model on the semi-infinite Cayley tree of second order with competing interactions up to the third-nearest-neighbors with spins belonging to the different branches of the tree and for this model investigate the problem of phase transition.…”

Attractors on Ising Model with Restricted Interactions on Cayley Tree of Order 2
Published 2013“…In this paper we reinvestigate the phase diagram of this model using an iterative scheme, that is developed for a renormalized effective nearest-neighbour coupling Kr and effective field per site Xr for spins on the n-th level of a Cayley tree with competing one-level J0 and prolonged Jp next-nearest-neighbour interactions between Ising spins on the tree. …”

Impact of a reverse delta type add-on device on the flap-tip vortex of a wing
Published 2016“…The effect of interactions of vortices produced by an outboard flap-tip of a half-span wing (NACA 23012 in landing configuration) and a slender reverse delta type add-on device, placed in the proximity of the outboard flap-tip, on the upper surface of the half-span wing is investigated using Particle Image Velocimetry in a closed loop low speed wind tunnel. …”

NN approach and its comparison with NN-SVM to beta-barrel prediction
Published 2016“…Current beta barrel prediction methodologies present intermittent misclassifications resulting in mismatch in the number of membrane spanning regions within amino-acid sequences. To address the problem, this research embarks upon a NN technique and its comparison with hybrid- two-level NN-SVM methodology to classify inter-class and intra-class transitions to predict the number and range of beta membrane spanning regions. …”
