Lower diastolic tension may be indicative of higher proarrhythmic propensity in failing human cardiomyocytes
Published 2024“…We aim to investigate the mechanistic link between proarrhythmic abnormalities, reduced contractility and diastolic dysfunction in heart failure, using electromechanical modelling and simulations of human failing cardiomyocytes. …”

Multivariate central limit theorems for random clique complexes
Published 2023“…These are:

(1) the vector of critical simplex counts attained by a lexicographical Morse matching,
(2) the vector of simplex counts in the link of a fixed simplex, and
(3) the vector of total simplex counts.…”

Strong and weak random walks on signed networks
Published 2025“…Comparing strong and weak walks on synthetic and empirical networks, we demonstrate that weak walks outperform strong walks in scenarios involving more than two communities or asymmetric link densities. Our findings suggest that replacing strong walks with weak walks could enhance other signed network random-walk algorithms, broadening their applicability to more realistic network structures.…”

‘Canon in colour’: contextual knowledge of race and empire as powerful knowledge
Published 2024“…I argue that ‘canon in colour’ is an example of powerful knowledge, and link this account to Hodgson & Harris’s (2024) concept of horizontal literacy. …”

Gender equality, growth, and how a technological trap destroyed female work
Published 2021“…We sketch the pathways within the development literature that have been hypothesised as linking equality for women to rising incomes and the reverse channels, from higher incomes to equality. …”

Function and regulation of the ADP-ribosylhydrolase TARG1
Published 2024“…The previously proposed role of the ADP-ribosylhydrolase TARG1 in the DNA damage response, along with its link to neurodegeneration, underscored the crucial activity of this hydrolytic enzyme in maintaining cellular homeostasis. …”

Low power DFT filter bank based two-stage spectrum sensing
Published 2013“…The paper presents a low power discrete Fourier transform (DFT) filter bank based two-stage spectrum sensing with energy detector (ED) for the first stage coarse sensing, complemented by a cyclostationary feature detector (CFD) for fine spectrum sensing. The dynamic power of the sensing operation depends on the sampling rate at which computations are performed. …”
