Serum cancer antigen 125 in patients with pleural effusions by How, Soon Hin, Liam, C K, Ab Rahman, Jamalludin, Chin, S P, Zal, A. B.

    Published 2006
“…The median levels of CA125 were higher in the pleural fluid than in the serum in all aetiological groups. Higher serum CA125 levels were more likely to be found in patients with moderate to large effusions (p = 0.015), malignant effusions (p = 0.001) and in female patients (0.016). …”

Do patients’ understanding of diabetes and perception of control predict higher Hba1c and complications? by Chin, Sze Paw, Che Abdullah, Shahrin Tarmizi, How, Soon Hin, Satwi, Sapari, Abdul Kadir, Khalid

    Published 2006
“…One hundred and eight consecutive patients (mean age 52.7± 13 years, BMI 27±5.2 kg/m2, HbA1c 9.2±2.2 %) attending diabetes clinic participated including 63% women, 60% primary or no education, and 47% duration of diabetes >10 years. 54% claimed to have a good understanding although nearly half answered questions on diabetes management and targets wrongly. 32% perceived their glycemic control to be good and were found to have lower baseline HbA1c (p<0.001), shorter duration of disease (p= 0.013), fewer or no complications (p= 0.06) and smaller 6-month deteriorations in HbA1c (p= 0.024) than patients who perceived poor control. Half of the patients over-estimated their control. …”

Preparation, characterization and dermal delivery of methadone by Sil dos Santos, Bruno, Kung, Chin-Ping, Hadgraft, Jonathan, Lane, Majella E., Patel, Bhumik, McCulloch, Renée

    Published 2019
“…The first stage of the work was the preparation of methadone free base as this form of the drug is expected to permeate the skin to a greater extent than the hydrochloride salt. Subsequently the molecule was characterized with Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and thermal analysis, the distribution coefficient was determined and solubility studies were conducted in a range of solvents. …”

    Published 2009
“…In each, intramolecular N-H...O hydrogen bonds generate S(6) ring motifs. The mean plane of the nitro group forms dihedral angles of 4.5 (3) and 0.5 (3)° with the benzene ring in molecules A and B, respectively. …”
