Ameliorative effect of α-tocopherol and tocotrienol-rich palm oil extract on menopause-associated mood disorder in ovariectomized mice
Published 2024“…However, treatment with tocotrienol-rich palm oil extract, but not α-tocopherol, modulated the depressive- and anxiety-like responses in ovariectomized mice subjected to chronic restraint stress. …”

Amplified spontaneous emission from single CdS nanoribbon with low symmetric cross sections
Published 2013“…Morphology dependent micro-region photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy is employed to show Purcell effect along different low symmetry cross sections. Spikes on the PL spectra reveal that local density of optical modes increases when the mode match happens between optical cavity and spontaneous emission. …”

Elucidation of thermally induced internal porosity in zinc oxide nanorods
Published 2020“…The pore volume growth rate is proportional to the heat treatment time, indicating that the process is diffusion controlled, akin to a reverse Ostwald ripening-like process. A manageable pore growth rate of 1.4–4.4 nm3·min−1 was observed at 540 °C, suggesting that the effective control over internal porosity can be achieved by carefully controlling the heat-treatment profile. …”

Simultaneous polymerization and adhesion under hypoxia in sickle cell disease
Published 2019“…We show that (i) hypoxia significantly enhances sickle RBC adherence; (ii) HbS polymerization enhances sickle cell adherence in SRs and SMEs, but not in ISCs; (iii) SRs exhibit unique adhesion dynamics where HbS fiber projections growing outward from the cell surface create multiple sites of adhesion; and (iv) polymerization stimulates adhesion and vice versa, thereby establishing the bidirectional coupling between the two processes. …”
