Frequency Dependence Modulus of Pd₄₀Ni₁₀Cu₃₀P₂₀ Amorphous Alloy around the Glass Transition by Dynamic Mechanical Analysis
Published 2003“…The storage modulus Eâ² exhibited a sigmoidal change from about 90 GPa to a low value of about 0 GPa over the glass transition region. The loss modulus, Eâ³, was characterized by an asymmetrical peak with a smaller slope at the low temperature side than at the high temperature side upon heating. …”

Multiple-level feature-based measure for retargeted image quality
Published 2020“…Furthermore, a high-level face block similarity feature is designed to deal with sensitive region deformation. The multiple-level features are complementary as they quantify different aspects of quality degradation in the retargeted image, and the MLF measure learned by regression is used to predict the perceptual quality of retargeted images. …”

China's changing trade pattern
Published 2009“…While others have viewed that it reflected changes in China’s economic structure and associated shifts in its role within regional and global production chains. This study tries to find some in-depth structure of China’s export and import by estimating export and import with equations in order to have some insight of the trade surplus. …”

A conserved arginine in NS5 binds genomic 3' stem-loop RNA for primer-independent initiation of flavivirus RNA replication
Published 2022“…The commitment to replicate the RNA genome of flaviviruses without a primer involves RNA-protein interactions that have been shown to include the recognition of the stem-loop A (SLA) in the 5' untranslated region (UTR) by the nonstructural protein NS5. We show that DENV2 NS5 arginine 888, located within the carboxy-terminal 18 residues, is completely conserved in all flaviviruses and interacts specifically with the top-loop of 3'SL in the 3'UTR which contains the pentanucleotide 5'-CACAG-3' previously shown to be critical for flavivirus RNA replication. …”

Taking ideas and words seriously: explaining the institutionalization of the Lancang-Mekong cooperation
Published 2024“…Relying on a collection and coding of over 700 Chinese official texts on the LMC and extensive interviews, we analyze how the Chinese authorities have used ideas and discourses to garner support from states in the Mekong region for the establishment of the institution. This article demonstrates that China’s ideational and discursive power helps generate three outcomes: preference denying, preference cultivating, and preference empowering. …”

Reducing dependence on China? South Korea's shift in foreign policy under the Yoon administration
Published 2024“…Moreover, Korea’s relations with China have been filled with mounting challenges posed by North Korea’s nuclearisation, increasing Chinese aggression in the region and the US-China rivalry. Korea’s pivot away from China poses a question on whether it can truly achieve independence from Chinese influence. …”

Hybrid K -means clustering and support vector machine method for via and metal line detections in delayered IC images
Published 2019“…The main contributions of the proposed method include: 1) fully automated detection of via and metal line positions without any need of human interventions and 2) novel hybrid methodology to embody K-means clustering and support vector machine for retrieving precise positions of vias and metal lines in contrast to the individual techniques, which can only provide a region for the detected elements. From experiments on 50 SEM images of 1536 × 2048 pixels taken from fabricated IC chips (@TSMC 130-nm CMOS process), our proposed HKCSVM method achieves an F-score of 99.82% for via detection, and mean intersection over union of 94.44% and mean pixel accuracy of 95.83% for metal line detection, which are both superior to the reported approaches.…”
