Vertical distribution of heavy metals in seawater column during IBA construction in land reclamation – re-exploration of a large-scale field trial experiment by Yin, Ke, Chan, Wei-Ping, Dou, Xiaomin, Lisak, Grzegorz, Chang, Victor Wei-Chung

    Published 2019
“…As the current study took account of major field factors during land reclamation, including seawater depth (m), IBA loading (ton), IBA dropping method, particle dispersive area (m2), and settling time (min), these findings are valuable for the risk assessment of IBA utilization in land reclamation.…”

Evaluating the potential of stabilised betacyanins from fermented red dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) drink: sustainable colouration and antioxidant enhancement of stirred yog... by Lim, Teck Wei, Lim, Renee Lay Hong, Pui, Liew Phing, Tan, Chin Ping

    Published 2024
“…The betacyanins of Improved-FRDFD-dH2O had excellent stability in the yoghurt (<5 % degradation), showing only a minimal difference (ΔE<1.5) in total colour changes and being able to retain >86 % of the initial antioxidant activity by the end of storage. These findings support the Improved-FRDFD-dH2O as a sustainable functional colourant with antioxidant properties for producing beneficial yoghurt.…”

Insight into proton transfer in phosphotungstic acid functionalized mesoporous silica-based proton exchange membrane fuel cells by Zhou, Yuhua, Yang, Jing, Su, Haibin, Zeng, Jie, Jiang, San Ping, Goddard, William A

    Published 2014
“…When the adjacent HPWs are close (less than 17.0 Å apart), the calculated activation energy for intramolecular proton transfer within a HPW molecule is higher (29.1–18.8 kJ/mol) than the barrier for intermolecular proton transfer along the hydrogen bond. We find that the overall barrier for proton movement within the HPW-meso-silica membranes is determined by the intramolecular proton transfer pathway, which explains why the proton conductivity remains unchanged when the weight percentage of HPW on meso-silica is above 67 wt %. …”

Unexpected intrinsic catalytic function of porous boron nitride nanorods for highly efficient peroxymonosulfate activation in water treatment by Bao, Yueping, Yan, Weili, Sun, Ping-Ping, Zhu, Justin Yeow Seow, Lua, Shun Kuang, Lee, Wen Jie, Liang, Yen Nan, Lim, Teik-Thye, Xu, Jason Zhichuan, Zhou, Kun, Hu, Xiao

    Published 2022
“…The used BN was easily regenerated by heating in air, in which the B-O bond was fully recovered. These findings provide new insights for BN as a non-metal catalyst for organics' degradation via PMS activation, in both theoretical and practical prospects.…”
