Plasmonic-induced overgrowth of amorphous molybdenum sulfide on nanoporous gold : an ambient synthesis method of hybrid nanoparticles with enhanced electrocatalytic activity by Phan-Quang, Gia Chuong, Yang, Zhe, Koh, Charlynn Sher Lin, Sim, Howard Yi Fan, Leong, Shi Xuan, Ling, Xing Yi

    Published 2020
“…By tuning the concentration ratio between the precursor and NPG, the amount of MoSx particles deposited can be systematically controlled from 0.5% to 2% of the Mo/(Au + Mo) ratio. Importantly, we find that the hybrid particles exhibit higher bridging and an apical S to terminal S atomic ratio than pure molybdenum sulfide, which gives rise to their enhanced electrocatalytic performance for hydrogen evolution reaction. …”

Detection and characterisation of a sixth Candida auris clade in Singapore: a genomic and phenotypic study by Suphavilai, Chayaporn, Ko, Karrie Kwan Ki, Lim, Kar Mun, Tan, Mei Gie, Boonsimma, Patipan, Chu, Joash Jun Keat, Goh, Sui Sin, Rajandran, Prevena, Lee, Lai Chee, Tan, Kwee Yuen, Bushra Binte Shaik Ismail, Aung, May Kyawt, Yang, Yong, Sim, Jean Xiang Ying, Venkatachalam, Indumathi, Cherng, Benjamin Pei Zhi, Spruijtenburg, Bram, Chan, Kian Sing, Oon, Lynette Lin Ean, Tan, Ai Ling, Tan, Yen Ee, Wijaya, Limin, Tan, Ban Hock, Ling, Moi Lin, Koh, Tse Hsien, Meis, Jacques F., Tsui, Clement Kin Ming, Nagarajan, Niranjan

    Published 2024
“…We further implemented Bayesian logistic regression models to classify isolates into known clades and simulate the automatic detection of isolates belonging to novel clades as their WGS data became available. Findings: The three investigated isolates were separated by at least 37 000 SNPs (range 37 000–236 900) from all existing C auris clades. …”

The adaptability of native to land administration in Sarawak, Malaysia by Toh, Ming Liang, Tan, Liat Choon, Tan, Wee Vern, Ujang, Muhamad Uznir, Azri, Nor Suhaibah, Thoo, Ai Chin, Looi, Kam Seng

    Published 2022
“…However, results indicate that the overall rate of acceptance is still far from satisfaction, especially in terms of the issuance of native titles. Based on the findings, the paper ends with the recommendations to improve the native land governance in Sarawak.…”

Phonon stability boundary and deep elastic strain engineering of lattice thermal conductivity by Shi, Zhe, Tsymbalov, Evgenii, Shi, Wencong, Barr, Ariel, Li, Qingjie, Li, Jiangxu, Chen, Xing-Qiu, Dao, Ming, Suresh, Subra, Li, Ju

    Published 2024
“…Computational work combining ab initio calculations and machine learning (ML) algorithms has further demonstrated that the bandgap of diamond can be altered significantly purely by reversible elastic straining. These findings open up unprecedented possibilities for designing materials and devices with extreme physical properties and performance characteristics for a variety of technological applications. …”

Simultaneous polymerization and adhesion under hypoxia in sickle cell disease by Papageorgiou, Dimitrios P., Abidi, Sabia Z., Chang, Hung-Yu, Li, Xuejin, Kato, Gregory J., Karniadakis, George E., Suresh, Subra, Dao, Ming

    Published 2019
“…We show that (i) hypoxia significantly enhances sickle RBC adherence; (ii) HbS polymerization enhances sickle cell adherence in SRs and SMEs, but not in ISCs; (iii) SRs exhibit unique adhesion dynamics where HbS fiber projections growing outward from the cell surface create multiple sites of adhesion; and (iv) polymerization stimulates adhesion and vice versa, thereby establishing the bidirectional coupling between the two processes. These findings offer insights into possible mechanistic pathways leading to vasoocclusion crisis. …”

Mxene titanium carbide-based biosensor : strong dependence of exfoliation method on performance by Chia, Hui Ling, Mayorga-Martinez, Carmen C., Antonatos, Nikolas, Sofer, Zdeněk, Gonzalez-Julian, Jesus J., Webster, Richard David, Pumera, Martin

    Published 2021
“…Chronoamperometric studies demonstrate that the proposed biosensing system exhibits high selectivity and excellent electrocatalytic activity toward the detection of glucose, spanning over wide linear ranges of 50-27 750 μM and possess a low limit of detection of 23.0 μM. The findings reported in this study conceptually proves the probable applications of pristine MXenes toward the field of biosensors and pave ways for the future developments of highly selective and sensitive electrochemical biosensors for biomedical and food sampling applications.…”

Functional analysis of germline RAD51C missense variants highlight the role of RAD51C in replication fork protection by Kolinjivadi, Arun Mouli, Chong, Siao Ting, Choudhary, Ramveer, Sankar, Haresh, Chew, Ee Ling, Yeo, Claresta, Chan, Sock Hoai, Ngeow, Joanne

    Published 2023
“…Investigations using patient-derived lymphoblastoid cell line carrying heterozygous RAD51C L134S variant showed an impairment in RAD51 chromatin association and replication fork protection, suggestive of deleteriousness of this VUS variant. Overall, our findings provide more insights into molecular roles of RAD51C in replication fork integrity maintenance and in DSB repair.…”
