Surface wave interactions with submerged horizontal viscoelastic sheets
Published 2022“…For larger submergence, a standing wave pattern with primarily lower order modes develops along the sheet with a significant reduction of transmitted wave energy past the sheet region for shorter period waves. An almost complete cutoff (up to 99% reduction in wave energy transmission) occurs with the flexible sheet held close to the mean water level (MWL), while 50-90% reduction in wave energy transmission is recorded with the stiffer sheets. …”

Investigation of membrane fouling phenomenon using molecular dynamics simulations: a review
Published 2022“…Membrane fouling remains a tremendous obstacle in the implementation of membrane technology, which has motivated the use of a wide range of experimental techniques to study and understand fouling behavior in the past decades. However, molecular-level insights, which underlie the macroscopic phenomena observable experimentally-, remain incomplete. …”

Theory-guided machine learning to predict configurational energies of high distortion alloy systems
Published 2023“…Matminer features have proved effective for predicting material properties such as bandgap, elastic constants, formation energies, adsorption energies, and ferromagnetic properties in the past. Using recursive feature elimination, optimized based on stable weight assignment of ridge regularization, we sieved out only important descriptors in a high dimensional framework where configurational energy labels vastly exceed the number of descriptors. …”

A numerical modeling approach for better differentiation of boulders transported by a tsunami, storm, and storm-induced energetic infragravity waves
Published 2023“…Coastal boulders are often indicators of past extreme wave events. In fact, the coastal boulder distribution induced by infragravity-dominated storm waves (energetic IG waves) may be similar to that induced by tsunamis; however, this assumption is yet to be investigated. …”

Design, characterization and properties of nitrogen-containing novel organic N-type materials
Published 2013“…In past decades, organic semiconductors have caused a lot of interests because of their potential applications in field-effect transistors(FET),organic-light-emitting devices(OLED)and photovoltaic cells.Among them, developing high-efficient n-type organic materials for organic field-effect transistors(OFETs)is very urgent.Currently, p-type organic semiconductors are well-developed and their mobility can go as high as4.8 cm2V-1S-1.Since p-type and n-type materials are equally important for the fabrication of p-n junctions and complementary logic circuits, the demand to find the promising n-type counterparts is necessary. …”
