On shear adhesion of adhesive fibrils
Published 2024“…Our model reveals that, depending on the fibrillar aspect ratio, the adhesive fibril exhibits three distinct deformation regimes: thin film shearing, thick block shearing, and slender beam bending. The important parameters governing the shear adhesion of the lap shear system are the aspect ratio of fibrils, elastic moduli of the fibrils and substrates, while the Poisson's ratio of fibrils has no noticeable effect. …”

The impact of foreign direct investment on the economy of the people's republic of China : a macroeconomic model
Published 2014“…The econometric study is purely empirical in nature and thus throws new light on the various channels through which FDI influences five macroeconomic variables: economic growth, exports, imports, national saving and domestic investment. For the case of China, FDI appears to have a positive effect on economic growth, exports and imports, negative effect on national savings and no significant effect on domestic investment. …”

Currency and conflict in colonial Nigeria
Published 2017“…This chapter examines a central theme in Jane Guyer’s analysis of monetary transactions in Atlantic Africa – the implications of money valuation in relation to social order and disorder in Nigeria. It revisits the case of manilla currency exchange that she has discussed extensively in relation to calculation, ranking and political legitimacy (Guyer 2004, 2009). …”

Impact of dust deposition on PV performance and hotspot generation: I-V and thermal analysis with SEM and UV-VIS-NIR
Published 2024“…Spectroscopic analysis using UV-VIS-NIR techniques demonstrated that the dust exhibited strong ultraviolet light absorption, moderate absorption in the visible range around 450 nm wavelength, and relatively low absorption in the near-infrared region. Morphological examination through scanning electron microscopy (SEM) unveiled irregularly shaped dust particles with varying size distributions, while energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) identified carbon, oxygen, aluminum, and silicon as major elemental constituents contributing to light absorption and scattering effects. …”
