Asymmetries in the effects of drivers of brand loyalty between early and late adopters and across technology generations
Published 2015“…We test these hypotheses using structural equation modeling on a unique cross-sectional dataset of attitudes toward mobile phone brands spanning two technology generations, 2.5G and 3G. The results reveal important asymmetries between adopter types and between technology generations: early adopters of mobile devices emphasize perceived value, whereas late adopters rely on brand satisfaction in developing brand loyalty; and consumers depend more on trust and less on perceived value in developing loyalty for the new generation than for the existing generation. …”

A functionally arranged phononic crystal rod enabling ultra-wideband vibration attenuation and orderly frequency distillation
Published 2024“…Based on these calculations, careful parameter selection yields a compact configuration for a functionally arranged phononic crystal rod, boasting an exceptionally wide band gap spanning frequencies from 100 Hz to 10,000 Hz. Finite element simulations vividly demonstrate its ultra-broadband vibration attenuation capability, nonsymmetrical wave propagation behavior, and orderly frequency distillation phenomenon. …”

Attractiveness of container shipping as an investment asset class - perspective from an equity investor with investment horizon of 5 years
Published 2022“…Comparison of historical returns to market average was used to determine the relative performance of container shipping stocks to market average across a span of 12 years from 2010 to 2021. Correlation analysis was then conducted to identify potential indicators of future share price performance that could be used to guide investor decisions. …”

Stability of laminated composites with delaminations
Published 2010“…Various parametric studies are then conducted and they include boundary condition, type of composite materials, number of layers, ply orientation, stacking sequence, through-the-thickness location of the delamination, delamination length and along-the-span position of the delamination. For all the single-delaminated and multi-delaminated thin composite beams cases that are examined, the CLT methods 2 and 3 are able to form the desired upper and lower bounds, respectively, for the actual buckling loads. …”
