Multiscale approach to nematic liquid crystals via statistical field theory by Lu, Bing-Sui

    Published 2018
“…In particular, for the case of a fully occupied lattice, we compute the values of the isotropic-nematic transition temperature and the order parameter discontinuity predicted by (i) a continuum approximation of the nearest-neighbor Lebwohl-Lasher model and (ii) a Lebwohl-Lasher-type model with a nematogenic interaction of finite range. We find that the predictions of (i) are in reasonably good agreement with known results of Monte Carlo simulation.…”

Multiplexed model predictive control by Wu, Bing Fang

    Published 2009
“…This results in demanding on-line optimization, hence computing resource can become an issue when applying MPC to complex systems with many inputs or with fast response times. …”

Amorphous ternary nanoparticle complex of curcumin-chitosan-hypromellose exhibiting built-in solubility enhancement and physical stability of curcumin by Wong, Jerome Jie Long, Lim, Li Ming, Tran, The-Thien, Wang, Danping, Cheow, Wean Sin, Hadinoto, Kunn

    Published 2019
“…The CUR-CHI nanoplex, however, (1) lacked a built-in ability to produce prolonged high apparent solubility of CUR in the absence of crystallization-inhibiting agents, and (2) exhibited poor physical stability during long-term storage. For this reason, herein we developed amorphous ternary nanoplex of CUR, CHI, and hypromellose (HPMC) where HPMC functioned as the crystallization inhibitor. …”

Bunker procurement strategies of liner companies part I operational strategies to reduce bunker cost by Tay, Bing Fa.

    Published 2011
“…As a result, careful selection of bunker grades is necessary when entering various regions where emissions are strictly controlled. Container line shipping serves a global market with large fleets that consume a tremendous amount of bunker. …”
