Thermoplastic polymer nanocomposites based on polydopamine-coated clay : preparation, structures and properties
Published 2014“…Besides, both organic surfactants (organic compounds with long hydrophobic tails and hydrophilic heads) and polymers are susceptible to photo-induced degradation especially in outdoor environments, making polymer/clay nanocomposites vulnerable in practical applications. …”

Dynamic drug combination methods for suppressing bacterial antibiotics resistance adaptation
Published 2014“…In this study, with the consideration of the effectiveness of phytochemicals in combination with synergistic antibiotics in resistance prevention or delaying effects on partner synergistic antibiotic, a new noble dynamic drugs dosing combination hypothesis was introduced and tested with 4 MRSA strains for a duration of 10 days and 30 days to understand short-term and long-term effects. Giving more than 20% (0.2 MIC) of tannic acid or quercetin together with synergistic fusidic acid was found to prevent adaptive or genetic mutations in MRSA strains. …”

3D content recovery and complexity reduction
Published 2015“…Our mocap recovery methods target two types of missing data: random missing data, where each joint in a sequence are missing at random, and block missing data, where each joint is missing for long intervals of time. For the case of random missing data, we propose to arrange the mocap data matrix into columns of short trajectories, which we call the trajectory-based representation, for matrix completion recovery. …”

Modeling and coordination control of AC/DC hybrid microgrids
Published 2022“…Three-phase alternating current (AC) has dominated the global power systems for over a century due to advantages such as readily transforming voltages with different levels, high-efficiency generation, transmitting power over long distances, etc. However, direct current (DC) power systems have recently gained popularity because they enable the more efficient and dependable integration of renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, fuel cells, and battery energy storage systems (ESSs). …”
