An updated analysis of housing price determinants in Singapore: implications for policy and planning
Published 2023“…Private housing in the outer central and rest of central regions rose during the pandemic, while the core central region experienced a decrease. Our findings affirm the importance of existing property cooling measures, and highlight key factors such as new housing supply, the relationship between both housing markets and demographic trends as important considerations for policymakers when designing housing policies.…”

Stylistic reproduction in the English version of Winter Pasture from the perspective of the stylistic markers theory
Published 2023“…Based on the Stylistic Markers Theory by Liu Miqing, the author of this paper classifies the style of Winter Pasture according to the features of formal markers and conducts a comparative study with qualitative analyses. And this paper finds that the translators use various modes to transfer different formal markers, including onomatopoeic words at the phonological level, the Romanised Kazakh vocabularies and the language of Kazakh grammar at the register level, meaningful punctuation at the syntactic level, the skilful uses of loose sentences and harmonious parallel sentences at the textural level, and the detailed colour words at the lexical level. …”

Thermal characterization of novel 3-D printed lattice structures
Published 2023“…They used an existing test facility that utilizes a steady state absolute approach to obtain effective thermal conductivities of the novel structures and compared the data with results from ANSYS Fluent Flow simulations. The findings provide insight into the optimal lattice shape, printing settings, and material characteristics for achieving high thermal conductivity in 3D printed lattice systems…”

Overparenting and psychological well-being among Asian American young adults: the role of gender & parent-child conflict
Published 2023“…Gender differences were also found where females who experienced overparenting were more likely to experience higher levels of parent-child conflict and this was associated with higher levels of depression. The findings suggest that Asian Americans are at risk for poorer psychological well-being when they experience overparenting and that females who experience overparenting may experience higher risk of depression than males, highlighting the need for targeted interventions.…”

Spontaneous charge transfer doping of transition metal dichalcogenides via ruthenium(III) chloride
Published 2024“…We then use electrical gating to determine the doping density in the TMDs due to the spontaneous charge transfer. Our findings revealed that hole doping in TMDs led to the formation of trions under photoexcitation, as evident from the trion response detected in the reflection contrast spectroscopy performed on molybdenum diselenide (MoSe2). …”

Role of angiopoietin-like 4 in tumor growth.
Published 2011“…In all, we show that enhanced expression of ANGPTL4 is common in tumors, and tumor-derived ANGPTL4 activates integrin-related, oxidant-dependent survival pathways, despite the loss of matrix attachment, suggesting ANGPTL4 as an important novel player in redox-mediated cancer progression. Our findings suggest that anticancer strategies focusing on redox-based apoptosis induction in tumors are viable.…”
