Postural stability in cyclists
Published 2025“…Conclusion: MTB balance was worse than RC balance, but both cycling groups were found to have better balance scores than the control. These findings have implications for public health, as cycling, an inexpensive and accessible activity already known to offer substantial health benefits, could additionally help maintain postural stability and potentially reduce risk of falls in later life.…”

The relationship between the moderate–heavy boundary and critical speed in running
Published 2024“…Conclusions: The study highlights some uncertainty in the fraction of T1 relative to CS, influenced by inconsistent approaches in determining both boundaries. However, our findings serve as a foundation for remote analysis and prescription of exercise intensity, although testing is recommended for more precise applications.…”

Pan-European atmospheric lead pollution, enhanced blood lead levels, and cognitive decline from Roman-era mining and smelting
Published 2025“…Here we determined potential health effects of this air pollution using Arctic ice core measurements of Roman-era lead pollution, atmospheric modeling, and modern epidemiology-based relationships between air concentrations, blood lead levels, and cognitive decline. Findings suggest air lead concentrations exceeded 150 ng/m3 near metallurgical emission sources, with average enhancements of >1.0 ng/m3 over Europe during the Pax Romana apogee of the Roman Empire. …”

Does negative parenting behavior lead to later peer victimization? A longitudinal co-twin control study
Published 2024“…In exploratory analyses, we found that in early adolescence, monozygotic girls exposed to negative parenting behavior presented higher levels of peer victimization than boys (monozygotic girls: Beta = 0.11, 95% CI = 0.03–0.19; monozygotic boys: Beta = -0.08, 95%CI = -0.19, 0.02). Our findings suggest that the relationship between negative parenting behavior and children’s risk for peer victimization may reflect shared underlying environmental and genetic risks. …”
