Metal-insulator-superconductor transition in nickelate-based heterostructures driven by topotactic reduction by Han, Kun, Xie, Minmin, Mei, Yufei, Lin, Renju, Xu, Liqiang, Chen, Pingfan, Yin, Penghui, Zeng, Shengwei, Ge, Binghui, Ariando, Ariando, Song, Dongsheng, Wang, Renshaw Xiao, Wu, Wenbin, Huang, Zhen

    Published 2024
“…In the incompletely reduced Nd0.8Sr0.2NiO2+δ, residual oxygen atoms in the Nd/Sr plane disrupt the long-range order of the infinite-layer structure, resulting in suppressed superconductivity with a low transition temperature and non-zero residual resistivity. …”

From cosmos to cell: constructing a paradoxical selfhood through planetary and biological bodies in the poetry of Diane Ackerman and Jane Hirshfield by Tan, Jasmine Hui Jun

    Published 2024
“…To date, research on literature and science have favored long-form writing and this thesis seeks to remedy that by investigating the utilization of biological metaphors to construct selfhood by understudied contemporary poets Diane Ackerman and Jane Hirshfield. …”

Sentiment analysis and summarization of movie reviews across genres. by Tun, Thura Thet.

    Published 2012
“…However, this approach can only classify the sentiment orientation (i.e. positive or negative) of relatively long review documents. Therefore, a more sophisticated method for sentence-level sentiment analysis using a natural language processing and rule-based approach was developed. …”

Growth and physical properties of organic semiconducting single crystals by Tan, Ke Jie

    Published 2012
“…High defect concentrations and grain boundaries cause hindrance to the charge carrier‘s transport. Relatively long radiative decay of excitons can be achieved in high quality Light Emitting Organic Field Effect Transistors (LEOFET) built from high charge carrier mobility materials. …”

Parallel and distributed algorithms for computational fluid flow simulations by Vu, Thanh Tung

    Published 2018
“…Therefore, when the volume of input data increases significantly (e.g. the topographic data have higher resolutions), the excessively long simulation time becomes a major obstacle. Thus, distributed computing architectures have been explored to parallelize the computation scheme to speed up the simulation time for modelling. …”

Populism in foreign policy by Chryssogelos, Angelos

    Published 2017
“…Highlighted are the breadth of critical and discursive approaches on populism that scholars of populism and foreign policy can use, particularly because they have been applied successfully to cases outside of Europe, where populists have long held political power and have influenced foreign policy in practice. …”

Impact of interspecific competition on African wild dogs (Lycaon pictus) in an ecosystem with artificial perennial water provision by Sandoval Serés, ME

    Published 2024
“…My main results show that: a) prey conservation mainly in low waterhole density areas is crucial to decrease food resource competition between African wild dogs with large predators (Chapter 2); b) areas with too high waterhole densities increased the kleptoparasitism risk on African wild dogs and hence the risk of agonistic encounters with dominant predators through an increase on the number of dominant predators arriving at playback locations (Chapter 3); c) African wild dogs preferred temporal partitioning over spatial partitioning to avoid large predators, and African wild dogs were able to co-occur in areas (rich in prey) with high aggregation and density of dominant predators as long as there were enough permanent waterhole densities (at least ~0.01 waterholes per km2) and not too high hyaena densities (above ~14 hyaenas/100km2) (Chapter 4). …”
